- time to normalize boys crying -

joji

"it's okay, you're just a little stumped, we can try again tomorrow joj," brian sighed, his hand resting underneath his chin.

today had been a bad day. first this morning, the coffee maker broke, it was pouring rain today, y/n and i were going through a rough patch, and i can't fucking finish this song for the life of me.

"but i can't leave it till tomorrow, it needs to be done tonight," i groaned, rubbing my face. my shoulders were sore, and i was just so tired.

"joji, dude. you're such a fucking workaholic. just go home." brian replied, closing my laptop lid.

"..... seriously, it's 10:30. what about y/n? she'll be worried that you're working so late. i haven't seen you text her all night?" brian continued, taking a sip of his fourth cup of coffee.

"she's pissed at me," i sighed, sitting back into my chair. the studio was empty, just brian and i. the ballads album playing softly.

"....we've been fighting a lot actually. i-i don't know what to do." i mumbled.
"well that's another reason to go home and be with her, i'll lock everything up. go home man."
brian chuckled, clearing not letting me lose this one.

"okay, okay." i grumbled, standing up from my chair and slowly starting to pack away my laptop into my bag.

"what have you guys been fighting about?" brian asked, putting on his coat. we usually talk about y/n, mainly because she is my everything.

but the past couple weeks that y/n and i have been at eachother throats, me talking about her had slowly come to a stop.

and all the cute texts from her reminding me to eat, and the call at the end of the day, saying "drive home safe joji, i don't know what i would do without you...."

and boy, i sure did miss those texts.

"we've been fighting about how much i work, she says i'm not spending enough time with her, and that i'm going to work myself to death." i sighed, pulling on my sweater.

"yeah, no shit sherlock." brian scoffed, opening the office door for me. "well, good luck." he smiled, and we both walked out of the studio.

brian waved bye and got into his car. then i did the same, i buckled my seatbelt and opened my phone, clicking on y/n's contact.

i started typing a text, letting her know that i was on my way home. but it felt weird, so i deleted the letters and shut off my phone.

the whole drive home, i was trying really hard to not let the tears slip down my cheeks.

your pov

you groaned, slamming your textbook closed. your brian cannot handle another chapter of
"Integrating Behavioural and Cognitive Psychology".

the rain was pouring down in buckets on brooklyn, which depressed you even more.

you stood up from the kitchen island, and your eyes flickered to the clock, 10:36 pm.
shit, and you hadn't even eaten yet.

you were exhausted from school, and you had been fighting with joji for the past month, and you really couldn't handle it anymore.

joji is a workaholic, and even though ballads is out now, you would think he would be taking a break, but no. he's back in the studio, working 10+ hour days.

he keeps denying that anything is wrong, and your relationship is definitely not in its prime time. and relationships need communication and time put into them.
