1. Madzie's Girlfriend

(A/N: This story has Madzie, Rafael, and Max as adoptive siblings with, obviously, Alec and Magnus as their parents. Madzie is the oldest of them all, and this has to involve her and her half-Shadowhunter/ half-Sealie girlfriend, Rose Queenland, trying to come out to both of their parents.)

Rafael: So what is it that you needed to talk to us about?

Madzie: It's sort of big news.

Max: Are you pregnant?

Madzie: NO!

Max: By the angel, I was just joking okay.

Madzie: Max be serious, please.

Max: Okay, what is it?

Madzie: Well I've been meaning to tell you this for quite some time, and that is.....

It's now or never, Madzie...

Madzie: I'm dating someone.

Max: Who is it?

Rafael: What happened?

Max: Where were we for this?

Rafael: When did this happen?

Max: Why didn't you tell us?

Rafael: How did you guys meet?

Madzie: Well she can answer those questions for yourself.

I turned around, and called my girlfriend out.

Madzie: Come on out, Rose.

Rose walked in, and stood by me. She also held my hand just to make it clear to Rafe and Max.

Max: This is for reals!

Rafael: Finally, you're with someone.

Madzie: Guys!

Rafael: Sorry.

Max: Sorry.

Madzie: Anyways, guys, this is Rose Queenland. Rose these are my little brothers, Rafael and Max.

Rose: Hi, it's really nice to meet you.

Rose held out her free hand, and Rafael was the first to shake it then Max.

Rafael: Nice to meet you as well.

Max: Hi.

Rafael: So, how come you didn't tell us?

Madzie: It's a long story, really.

Rose: To sum up our huge love story, Madzie and I met when all of you were on a vacation trip to the Shanghai Institute. While you dads, Mr. and Mr. Lightwood-Bane, were discussing things with the Head, Madzie and I bumped into each other in the library. We became good friends, and we gave each other's phone numbers so that way we could text each other. Then one night, when Madzie was home alone she decided to open a portal to my room so she could hang out with me. I wanted to see New York, so she portaled us there into her room and we just hung out and stuff until we got caught up in a moment and kissed each other. We didn't start to make ourselves an official couple, until we talked and thought about it. Then we both agreed we couldn't deny our feelings for each other, and we decided to become girlfriend and girlfriend.

Rafael: Wow.

Max: That explains why you giggle and blush every time you were texting on your phone.

Rafael: Now to say again, why didn't you tell us?

Madzie: We thought that you guys would assume that dad and papa knew, but they don't know either.

Rose: And there's a reason for that, because I haven't even told my parents that I'm lesbian. If we told you that then you guys would assume that I was ashamed of Madzie when I'm not.

Madzie: We did want to tell you guys, but Rose wasn't ready until now.

Max: It's so ironic, because dad and papa are coming back from their meeting in Idris today and now you're telling us this.

Rose: Due to the fact that your fathers are coming back today, it gave me the chance to think about coming out to them and my parents.

Rafael: How?

Madzie: We were planning on having dinner with all of us, excluding Rose's family, so that Rose can get to know papa and dad.

Rose: Though there is problem with that....

Max: What?

Rose: My parents figured out that I'm dating.

Rafael: WHAT?

Max: NO!

Rafael: Did they take it well?

Rose: They don't know I'm dating Madzie, heck they don't even think I'm dating a girl. They think I'm dating a boy, and they want to meet 'him' at a dinner they're throwing today.

Max: Oh no....

Rafael Please don't tell us that one of us has to cover for you, so that way your parents won't know that your dating Madzie.

Rose: No, I would never put someone in the position!

Rafael: Good.

Madzie: Rafe, just calm down okay! Look, Rose and I talked about this and we both agreed that we should come out to them at dinner.

Rose: You guys are invited as well, since my parents are assuming that the 'boy' I'm 'dating' has family.

Max: How are you guys even planning to tell dad and papa?

Madzie: As soon as they get back from Idris, we'll make it a surprise for them.

Max: Just one question though, if you don't mind me asking Rose.

Rose: No need, I know what you're going to say. Let me put it in an equation for you, parents plus religious equal super religious up to the point where they think that marriage is between a man and a woman. Which makes absolutely no sense, because they support downworlders and shadowhunters together and yet they don't support gay rights.

Rafael: That doesn't make any sense.

Rose: I know, and if you guys happen to experience an uncomfortable situation from my parents then I'm sorry. They just don't understand that people that are gay are like straight people just different sexuality.

Max: It's okay, our fathers had to deal with it when they got together so it's fine.

Rose: If it makes the both of you feel better, Madzie and I are visiting my Aunt Penelope at Java Jones this afternoon so I'll introduce her there.

Madzie: We'll think of it as a practice round for us, until we come out to dad and papa then Rose's family.

Rose: We just wanted to let you guys know about this, so you won't get confused or anything.

Rafael: Sounds good to me.

Max: Let's just pray to the angel that everything goes well.

Rose: Trust me, with my family knowing this, I think I'm going to experience a whole lot of things after this is over.

Madzie: In any case, we better get going, Rose's aunt should arrive in an hour.

Rafael: Wait!

Madzie: What?

Rafael: How come you guys are coming out to Rose's aunt earlier than her family?

Rose: Because my aunt is a gay rights activist in Idris, so we'll be comfortable with coming out to her.

Rafael: Oh, well have fun then, we'll see you guys later.

Madzie: Bye.

Rose: Bye.
