Alec's First Pride Month

For some odd reason, Magnus is extremely happy today and I have no idea what it is.

Magnus: Alexander, my dear Shadowhunter, aren't you excited?

Alec: Excited for what?

Magnus: Have you completely forgotten about what this month is supposed to represent?

Alec: Uh, no. Is this some weird mundane holiday that you celebrate?

Magnus: Alexander, you as a gay Shadowhunter, you cannot tell me that you haven't heard of Pride Month?!

Alec: What the hell is Pride Month?

Magnus: Oh you poor child, where have you been all your life?

Alec: At the Institute, away from mundanes like Shadowhunters normally do.

Magnus: Well then I guess should explain what Pride Month is then. Pride Month takes place every June to celebrate the LGTBQ+ community.

Alec: And they celebrate until the end of June?

Magnus: Exactly.

Alec: What is it that they do during Pride Month?

Magnus: They have a huge parade, a rally, and have a huge party. Think of it as all of the LGBTQ's birthday party.

Alec: Oh well then, Happy Pride Month Magnus.

Magnus: Happy Pride Month, Alexander. Now let's go shopping.

Alec: Shopping for what?

Magnus: For some clothes so we can be ready for the Pride Parade.

Alec: I don't know Magnus...

Magnus: What do you mean you don't know? You have to come, Alec.

Alec: Do I?

Magnus: Yes you do and you're going whether you like it or not.

Alec: Magnus have you completely forgotten that I came out a year ago? I don't know if I'm ready to do this kind of thing.

Magnus: Alexander you're going to be fine, everyone over there is going to support you in every way possible. And if you want to, you can bring the whole gang along with you so you can hang out with them so you won't feel that alone.

Alec: Magnus I'm not going to be alone because you're with me but I'm still new to all of this. Don't get me wrong, this whole Pride Month seems pretty cool but could I at least have time?

Magnus: Alexander you're going to be fine I just know it.

You know, I think I need to start accepting more of myself. I know that I came out a year ago but that doesn't I have to keep hiding who I am.

Alec: You know Magnus, you're right. Let's go to the Pride Parade.

Magnus: Yay!

Magnus gave me a hug and little kisses all over my face. Then Magnus dragged me out of his loft and all the way to the mall. We searched through stores just to find the perfect clothes for Pride and I didn't like all the choices that Magnus gave me. One because they were extremely bright and I'm only into black clothes. And try not to act like Magnus and say that I'm emo because I'm not. I just like to wear black clothing and that's all. I don't wear black makeup, or make myself pale of dye my hair red and black. So that doesn't make me an emo person.

Magnus: What about this one Alec?

Alec: No.

Magnus: Oh but that shirt over there was really-

Alec: Magnus I don't want to wear any of these. Can't I just wear my regular clothes?

Magnus: But they're all black and-

Alec: Magnus.

Magnus: Can't I at least by you a new pair of-

Alec: Magnus.

Magnus: Alright fine, I'll let you wear your regular clothes.

Alec: Thank you.

After shopping I texted everyone to see if they wanted to come to the Pride parade and to my surprise, everyone said yes. My guess is that Pride Month is for everyone whether you're straight or not.

(TIME SKIP)

Clary: I'm gonna need you to stand a bit more straight Alec.

Alec: You know I'm not very good at that Fray.

I had Clary paint a rainbow on cheeks since I didn't want to wear any of the clothes that Magnus showed me I decided to make it up to him by wearing makeup. After she was done, she gave me a mirror and showed me how I looked like.

Clary: What do you think?

Alec: Wow Clary, you did an amazing job.

Clary: Thanks. Now come on, we have to show Magnus this. I bet he's going to love it.

Alec: I hope so.

Clary and I traveled to Magnus' loft and when he saw me with the makeup he was absolutely shocked. At first, I thought he hated it and it looked ridiculous but then I thought differently after what he said.

Magnus: Alexander, you look so beautiful.

Alec: Well you can thank Clary for helping.

Magnus Biscuit your art skills have done it again.

Clary: You're welcome.

Izzy: Are we ready? I want to get there as early as possible.

We all headed to the Pride parade that's taking place at Central Park and we all celebrated together.
