8. Malec Homecoming

The next day and no one could stop talking about Spider-Man, me, saving Magnus at his party. When people do it, I can't help but just smile in knowing that I did something worth wild! Jace keeps smirking at me when this happens, and we give off signs to each other just to make things better. I think I'm in a good role, but there is still one problem. The missile, I have no idea what is going on. I tried to see if it was from the government, but it doesn't look like it. I told Jace about it, and we both agreed to show it to him and see if he could figure something out.

Jace: Hmm...

Alec: Anything?

Jace: I feel like I've seen this missile before, hold on a minute.

Jace got out his phone, and then showed me something.

Jace: Is this what we're looking at?

I looked at Jace's picture, and I saw a bunch of men posing in front of the missile!

Alec: Jace, what is this?

Jace: This is a picture of my grandfather, Marcus Herondale when he was fighting in World War ll. They had this missile that his team launched in some part of Germany, I remember taking a picture of this because I needed it for a project back in middle school. When my grandpa died, I just kept it because it was the only thing that I had left of him.

Alec: I don't know if this has a connection to The Circle or The Endarkened, but if this missile does then I bet more will be coming out. The only thing that is boggling my mind is these two questions. why was the missile pulled out and made into something new and why was the missile heading towards Magnus' house?

Jace: Maybe The Circle or Endarkened has some urge with Magnus.

Alec: No, it can't be Magnus because he doesn't know any gangs. It has to be a family member of his that has a history with them.

Jace: What about Magnus' dad?

Alec: What do you mean?

Jace: Remember that time in Sophmore year in Chemistry, I was paired up with Magnus to be partners. I went over to his house one time, and when I saw his dad I knew that there was something odd about him.

Alec: Even if there was an instinct about him, it doesn't prove anything.

Jace: Oh and yelling into a phone isn't?

Alec: What?

Jace: When Magnus and I were working on the project, I would hear muffled screams coming through Magnus' door. The one time, I had to use the bathroom and then I heard him yell 'You're a pathetic asset to my team and I want you out of it now. You're fired.'

Alec: And I bet that asset was Valentine.

Jace: Possibly, but I'm not sure.

Alec: If Magnus' dad has some sort of strained connection with any gang then I bet one of them is trying to get revenge by killing Magnus.

Jace: And it has to be The Circle or The Endarkened.

Alec: I remember when I was interrogating the criminals, one of them said that Valentine's son makes the weapons. Maybe he was the one who made it all shiny and new.

Jace: That has to leave us with one question, where are they getting these weapons? From what my grandfather told my father was that after the war was that they melted them to make iron or kept them in a special facility just in case if they had to use it.

Alec: I bet this was kept in there.

Jace: The only thing is that I bet that place is heavily guarded.
