When Barry and Caitlin finished their quick make-out session they made their way out the speed lab track, Iris then quickly running off to the Cortex. The forbidden couple took a seat next to the desk in the lab.
"Okay, Barry now we have to talk about it," Caitlin said sternly. She was always acted serious and calm under difficult situations, but Barry knew it was just what was on the surface.
Barry nodded, "So, we want to be together. But for some reason, we can't? Why?"
"Iris, Julian, and our jobs put us in danger literally every day..." Caitlin frowned.
"Yeah, but isn't that the same with any person we're with, I mean we both have powers, both fight metas, we both put our life on the line. At least instead of breaking someone else, we are both already broken. So why not?"
"Because they are also our friends Barry," Caitlin looked down, understanding the real outcome of their relationship. She was always a realist and sometimes she hated it. "No matter how much we want to be together, ultimately we would end up hurting someone one way or another."
"There has to be a way," Barry sighed talking Caitlin's hands into his.
"I'm sure there is one," Caitlin said trying to be more optimistic, "but, just not right now."
Then Cisco called from the comms, saying, "Hey Barry, there's an attack at CCPD."
"Be right there!" Barry called out. He took one more quick look at Caitlin before suiting up and running out. "I'll be back in a bit."
...................
After Caitlin's talk with Barry, she made her way back to the med-bay. Shuffling through the piles of papers she had in her hand Iris cut her off in front of her.
"Oh, jeez," Caitlin said surprised, "hi Iris, what's up."
"Nothing much," she said quickly and changing the topic. "You know, I'm really surprised you came back. Didn't think you would."
"You didn't..?" Caitlin replied continuing her walk.
"Well, yeah. I mean you did go all frosty last time we all saw you, and you kind of betrayed us all," Iris continued, Caitlin seemingly becoming more uncomfortable than she already was. "I mean you did side with the bad guy and try to kill me. But like your back now so, yeah... But then again, the future is never wrong. You said it once destiny is real. Anyways see you." Iris finished manipulating Caitlin then scurried off to the Cortex.
Caitlin leaned against the wall, she started to breathe heavy, her hands felt cold. "Calm down Caity, let it go," she whispered to herself, "Maybe she's just grumpy today, although everything she had just said was true. I can't fight destiny, I'm KILLER frost." Before she could freeze the papers in her hand, Caitlin dropped them and left Star Labs. Taking deep breaths to calm down all the way, Caitlin called a taxi to the old run downtown outside of Central City to an underground bar where she often spent nights at, The Laja Bar. Although she was fired from it, she still spilled her sorrows with a glass of vodka with the bartender with extreme precision behind the bar and laser eyes. Knowing how smart and intrusive her friends Caitlin left her phone at Star Labs.

Barry POV
"K Cisco," Barry looked around CCPD to see complete havoc, papers flew everywhere, shots were fired at the ceiling, officers were on the floor, and a yellow and white steak ran around in circles causing destruction. "I'm gonna try to stop it," he said before trying to chase the streak.
"Another speedster, really!" Cisco exclaimed through the comms.
"Cisco, he's too fast!" Barry ran as he could but was still inches away from the streak. It was too blurred for Barry to identify. It ran downwards to attack more officers and Barry followed him. Barry saw him head towards Joe and August, all shooting from the corner. "Stop!" Barry yelled out.
"You can't stop me Flash," it vibrated its voice.
"You sure about that?!" Barry pushed a little harder, being able to grab his right ankle holding it tight. As a result, the blur tripped, soon it got up and ran out. After being applauded by the whole CCPD Barry ran out and went back in as Barry Allen, forensic scientist.
"Hey, oh my god," he said walking towards Joe and August getting patched up. "Are you guys okay?"
"We're okay son," Joe replied putting a band-aid on his cut, "But it looks like there's another competitor for the Flash again."
"How about you August?" Barry asked his new acquaintance.
"Fine, just a bruise on my leg," he replied while wrapping gauze around his ankle.
"That's good." That was odd Barry thought, everyone else in the CCPD had suffered cuts or concussions.
"Well, I gotta go back to Star Labs, see you later Joe."
..........
Barry speeded into the cortex taking his mask off.
"Who was that?" Barry asked, "and why haven't we known about another speedster before?"
"Don't know," Julian replied, "But cameras couldn't get a picture, even a blurred one."
"Well whoever it was, their lighting was yellow and white," Barry added, "does it mean anything, considering how Hunter, Thawne, and Savitar's lighting were different colors too."
"Oh, Caitlin started a study on this other, and how their lightning color depended on like their connection to the speed force," Cisco responded, "Where is she though?"
After Cisco's comment, Barry immediately ran through Star Labs returning in the cortex with the stack of papers.
"She's not here, where is she?" Barry said more worriedly. Cisco and Julian both shrugged.
"Don't worry," Iris said entering the cortex. "She left hours ago, didn't say where she was going but she's a big girl. Now, Barry, we have reservations in an hour. Let's go," she said pulling him out.
Feeling obligated to go, knowing that he would soon break her heart, Barry replied, "Oh. Umm, ok, you guys start looking for her, call me if you do." Although he much rather be looking for Caitlin.
