The video 1: To Caitlin
"Caitlin," the man in the screen said. It was her father. The time stamp on the bottom left was from a year before his ALS symptoms began appearing. "If you are watching this, I am probably dead or was taken away by my former business partners. But let's hope the first option. But you would have also found out the secret your Uncle, Charlie, and I have been keeping from you all these years. Charlie being apart of the lie and myself... Not knowing how you'll react if you are anything like your mother, you'll deny it at first, ignore it, face it, and then pretend it never happened. But if you're anything like me, you'll keep it to yourself for some time, shutting people out, then lash out, until you're calm again. I really hope you're neither, but I do know you are going to be mad either way, and I understand. But I can't say I'm sorry Caity, and I am sorry for that. It was the only way to protect you, protect your mother from knowing, and protect the family. The people I used to work with, in New York, way before you were born. Were not the greatest people, luckily someone else is handling with it, a good friend of mine. But having powers at this time anyway, it's not safe. Even if you try to use it for good, people will always pose it as a threat. Plus... ice and snow," he sighed, "not the warmest subject. The world just isn't safe for people like us right now."
Elijah stood up and stepped out of the camera's view for a second and sighed before loud horrendous coughs were heard, and he sat back down.
"I hope you'll get over that anger, how long it may be, but I love you Caity, and I miss you. The thought of leaving you behind, and your brother, well... kills me. And Charlie, gosh, I'm sorry for keeping you apart. He even hated me for keeping you two apart, only that he knew about you, but I didn't allow it. But I know both of you are strong. Especially you Cait, you may not remember but when you were ten you got into a car crash and your cryogenic powers were no longer dormant. There was a lot, of chaos... Your mother, you, this just made it easier," Elijah said holding up a helmet with gadgets built around it as well as a tape recorder. "This is what we used to wipe your memories. To regain them they are on the other tape, as well as your mother's. I'm really sorry Cait, I'm just trying to protect you as long as I can. But, I can't protect you forever. I don't know... If and once you do find out about all of this... it might be better or worse. I just didn't want to find out for myself. I have one hundred years of history, one hundred years of family and friends gone, one hundred years of conflict, I didn't want you to be apart of that pile," Elijah sighed. "I love you Cait, I'm sorry for not being the father you thought I was..." He finally said before the DVR tape stopped.
......................................................................
Caitlin's eye's teared up, she was sad, mad, confused, everything she couldn't explain. He was right that she was mad, and that she was similar to both him and her mother. Closed off or in denial. But she knew she had changed with Barry, she actually told him stuff. She was sad that she had just realized, her father probably had numerous other lives before. Lost friends, wives, children. Maybe losing people you loved ran in the family. Caitlin hoped she could break that tradition. She was confused as to why her father went to such a great extent to hide all of this from her and her mother. What had he been involved in that was so bad? He said it was handled by someone else, but who?
"How do you feel?" Barry asked, interrupting her running through lists of questions in her head.
"Like my brain is going to explode," Caitlin responded, this was so much.
"We can watch the other one tomorrow," Barry suggested.
"No," she replied, "you can go to bed, I think I'll watch this one on my own."
Barry nodded and left Caitlin to watch the old memories that had been taken from her.
