"Fine," Barry sighed. It was too late now to take it back, he couldn't believe it, he had literally made a deal with the devil.

"Good," August growled putting his mask back on. "Now...," he started, "we don't wanna start any suspicions you going back without any breaks or bruises." Godspeed ran towards Barry without no warning, both of them gave a good fight. Although Godspeed did better, it was only enough to mildly injure Barry. They eventually ran back into the city after their battle, Barry running into the Cortex with multiple bruises and cuts and Godspeed to who knows where.

"Oh my god Barry!" Caitlin screamed, immediately wobbling to him, treating his injuries.

"It's good Cait, I'm okay," Barry said as she helped him up.

"What happened, where's Godspeed?" Cisco asked.

"He's gone, and will be for a while," Barry panted. "We made a deal."

"You made a deal with him?!" Joe exclaimed, knowing he taught Barry better than to be blackmailed. "Why?!"

"I needed to," Barry regained his breath, "he threatened us, my family," Barry said putting his arm around Caitlin. "It was August, and he does not have the same motives as his Earth-3 doppelganger. He's a psychopath, a serial killer. He promised that, if we don't expose him or get him fired at CCPD, he'll go in hiding for a few months. If we don't..."

"We all die," Julian finished.

Yeah almost, Barry thought as Julian gave the somewhat half-truth. But if he said what really happened it wouldn't end well. I'll figure it out, I'll find a better way, he thought.

"Why is he even doing all this, killing innocents?" Joe asked.

"He's sick," Barry replied, "he thinks it's all a game. He goes out and wreaks havoc, and the hero TRIES to stop him."

"How are we ever going to stop him?" Julian added.

Barry stuttered, not knowing and having something else on his mind.

"Maybe I can help out on the field," Charlie suggested, "I have vigilante experience from my time in Gotham, and speed and cold are opposites, so."

"Wait, oh my gosh yes," Cisco squealed excitedly, "and I have the perfect idea for a suit, and I'll get back to you for a name."

"Alright," Charlie replied, following Cisco out into his lab.

"Okay," Barry started, "we will figure this out. Joe, Julian why don't you guys go back to the precinct. I need to go train."

As the team split to do their own daily task, Barry went to the training room with Caitlin quickly following behind.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"What do you mean? Godspeed just threatened to hurt is, hurt you," he began punching the punching bag.

"What's wrong with you? What else happened?" She added.

"It doesn't matter," he mumbled. It did matter.

"Barry, tell me," Caitlin said sternly.

"I'll figure it out myself," he mumbled again.

"Figure what out?!" She finally resorted to a scream.

"He wants our baby!" He yelled and stopped punching the punching bag. "Once you give birth he said, he wants our speed baby to train and raise to be a legacy of evil reign. Happy now!"

"And you agreed!?" Caitlin yelled, completely in disbelief Barry would do such a thing and then not tell her.

"No! Yes... I said I would figure it out!" Barry replied.

"You will figure it out?! Barry this is our life, our babies! You can't just tell me you traded our offspring to an evil psychopathic speedster!"

"I wasn't gonna actually do it," he said.

"Then what are you planning to do, run away. Make all of us pick up our lives and hide like my brother and uncle. Repeat history and make things worse, don't even try another Flashpoint Barry! So what's your plan huh?!" She argued with him.

"I DON'T KNOW," he completely lashed out, immediately feeling a bit taken back afterward. His mind was not clear, he didn't know what to do. How could he be a hero if he doesn't even know how to save his own family, he thought. "H-how about," he stuttered. "...he doesn't know we're having twins. W-what if we giv-..."

Caitlin cut him off, yelling at him with a cloud of bigger disbelief and anger. "We are not going to split up our kids, Barry! Are you kidding me, Barry, what do you think you're doing!?"

"I don't know Caitlin!" Barry leaned on a wall putting his head in his hands, "I don't know... I don't want to give him anything, I don't want him to take or hurt anyone. But I didn't know what to do. I couldn't chase him, he's too fast. I'm not strong enough to beat him in a fight, and I don't kill. What am I going to do Cait?" Barry began shedding light tears. "I'm too weak."

"No Barry, you aren't weak," Caitlin said sitting beside him, pulling him into a hug. "He may be all those things but you are the Flash, Barry. A beacon of hope, the hero of Central City. Even heroes make bad choices."

Barry sighed putting his head on Caitlin's shoulder, hugging her tight while also placing a hand on her stomach to make sure he didn't squeeze her too hard. "I'm sorry...." he sighed. "I love you."

"I love you too," she whispered him his ear. "And the one thing he doesn't have is love, a family. We'll get through this together," she said. "And that's what makes you stronger than him."

.....................................................................

Once they gathered themselves, they returned to the cortex to fill in the team. Of course, they were not pleased with the news either but arguing would make no solution.

"So what are we going to do?" Joe asked, "Just sit around and wait for August to show up again?"

"I mean what else can we do?" Julian said. "He said if we didn't stay quiet he would cause more chaos, but if we follow through we still lose."

"Julian's right," Barry said, "we can't do much now, but we can plan. Although I don't know what to plan right now, I think we can just prepare until the babies are born. Train and all that, but if things don't work out, which seems it will in some way... enjoy our time together."

Barry looked over at Caitlin, who was looking down sorrowfully putting her hand over the small bump on her abdomen.

"It won't come to that," Cisco said walking into the Cortex.

"We don't know that," Caitlin mumbled. "Whether it's just a crack or shatter, something's going to happen." Though the statement seemed pessimistic, it was the reality of their situation.

"Well hopefully Central City's new superhero will help prevent some of that," Cisco said, as Charlie entered in his new super suit.

"I, we, won't let it come to that," Charlie said sternly. "We're all a family."
