Fourteen

"Ready everyone?" Jesse asked heading into the old run down building. The team replied with yes through the comms. "All right, inject the antidote now. Barry, you head in from the right, I'll go from the left."

Barry nodded, injecting himself before the both sped into the center of the abandoned morgue.

"And I thought Zoom's lair was creepy," Barry whispered.

A loud clang came from the corner and the two speedsters immediately took guard.

Slowly a slouching, skinny, figure appeared from the dark. Dressed is ragged black leather, A messy bundle of hair on top, and an odd mask, with two eye holes and a mouth hole is sewn shut. He held two blades in each hand.

"We're taking you in Murmur," Jesse exclaimed.

Not looking intimidated at all, his shoulders began shaking, dropping his knives, A muffled laugh began exiting his shut mouth. Barry and Jesse stood in horror as this insane man began falling into a laughing fritz in front of them.

Inpatient for Jesse's queue, Barry took a step closer. Murmur suddenly stopping, and stared at him, tilting his head to distract Barry from him reaching his into his pocket and pulling out a vile and tossing it up into the air.

Reaching its peak in the air, as the vile began falling a blur appeared in a flash of lightning grabbing it and injecting it into its arm.

"Ahh," a tall, black-haired, beautiful woman appeared, injecting herself with its contents.

"Frost, Aqua," Jesse whispered through the comms, "come."

Noticing her not so subtle action, the woman, approached Jesse. "Why isn't Jesse Quick, guess you didn't want to continue with the Flash name after that imposter "

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Someone who's been in Zoom's shadow way too long," the woman said before taking hits at the two speedsters.

Murmur still standing on the side watching the speedster have at each other. It wasn't until Frost and Mara entered when he picked up his knife, slicing himself to get his blood on the blade, and threw it into the circling blur of speedsters. The wind stopped when Jesse fell in pain, the knife had cut her arm. Although he had the antidote, the pain was intolerable. Mara quickly ran to her side. But before anything could be done, the Woman Speedster rushed away, taking Murmur, Frost, and Barry with her.

Zoom's old lair

Barry slowly opened his eyes, his head hurt. Finally fully aware of what happened he stood up and screamed, "Jesse!"

"Calm it speedster!" Frost scolded from the other side of the glass cage, that they both were once held prisoner in. "She's probably fine, Den and Mara got her."

"Where are we?" he asked.

"Thought you'd remember," she replied, "don't think either of us would think to ever find ourselves here again."

"Zoom's lair," Barry whispered to himself.

"I think you mean Surge's lair now," the woman speedster appeared in front of the cage. "Nice to see you again Frost, bad to see you've become warm. To bad Storm isn't here to do that for you."

"What do you want, Eris" Frost hissed.

"Why isn't it obvious," she cackled, "I want Zoom's army. I'm gonna do what that idiot couldn't, what he doubted that I could do. Take over the multiverse. All thanks to some leftover velocity 9 Hunter forgot to lock up."

"You're not going to," Killer Frost warned, "the others are gonna..."

"Your team's gonna what?" Eris cut her off, "kill me? You all have too high of a moral compass to do that. They've really changed you, Frost, what are you, a hero now?"

"I'm not a hero!" Killer Frost yelled, her eyes turning a shade of bright blue, "and I'd be happy to end you like how I should've before!"

"Sure Frosty, sure," Eris replied before walking away laughing. Killer Frost threw her head back frustrated against the wall and slid down onto the ground. "Let's go Murmur," Eris called walking out, Murmur who was throwing knives at a board, followed her out.

"This is gonna take longer than I thought," Barry whispered to himself quietly. "So you wanna explain what just happened?" Barry asked Frost on the other side of the glass cage, knowing they would be there for some time.

"What do you want to know?" She said, "that I had villian 'friends,' that for the first time KILLER Frost didn't kill."

"You're not a killer," Barry muttered, forgetting that this wasn't his Cait again, just her mirror opposite.

"Are you forgetting your doppel-dad, what's wrong with y..." she started, just to be he cut her off.

"Sorry, nevermind Cait," he sputtered before realizing the next mistake he made.

"Don't call me that," she said sternly, Barry then agreeing to stop taking nonsense. "What's wrong with you speedster? You've been acting weird to me this whole time. Something going on with my doppelganger over there?"

Barry stuttered unsure of how to answer, but Frost got the point.

"Oh, it's you and the snowflake, huh?" She asked. Barry nodded in response. "Well I'm not her," she responded.

"I know, just what ever," Barry wanting to get past this. "We need to get out of here," he said getting up. He wanted to get back home to his Cait.

"How?" Frost asked. "We might have been able to escape the cages before, but she's smarter than Zoom. She probably changed the cage."

Barry walked over to the glass, examining it with his forensic skills. "It's different but it's similar. I can't phase through it, but maybe I could if the glass was cooler."

Killer Frost nodded, but then looked at him and at the glass.

"I'll come back for you, I promise," Barry assured her, "And maybe you can get a fresh start on a new Earth?" he suggested.

Killer Frost nodded again trying not to let a smile out, as she began freezing the glass. During this Barry started to think about Caitlin, and the other speedsters he has faced. Thawne caused Caitlin to break, Zoom hurt Caitlin in a way unimaginable, Savitar was all his fault and he hurt her. He couldn't even bear to think what God Speed would do or even Surge if they aren't careful closing the breach. Not only would he hurt the ones he love again, he would fail as a hero to everyone. 

"This good enough?" She asked.
