Forty nine

2-month jump, Caitlin is about 8.5 months pregnant...

Caitlin had decided to finally take her maternal leave away from Star Labs, despite her previous reluctance. She finally realized being there, in addition to the hormones, only elevated her anxiety about Godspeed. She stayed at home trying to calm herself or went out with Iris or Cecile to shop for baby stuff or go to Jitters, and would rarely visit times she needed to monitor the comms for a basic mission, like a bank robbery.

Being so close to her due date, Carla was now around Caitlin a majority or the day, which Caitlin wasn't too thrilled about. Although she liked how she and her mother were finally getting closer after all these years, and with Charlie in the mix, it finally felt they were a family again. Also, since Caitlin was going to be giving birth to the first metas with genetically inherited powers, let alone from both parents, the plan was to have Carla perform the procedure to avoid any possible situation that would occur in an actual hospital delivery room.

Barry managed to try his best to keep a happy face around Caitlin. He wanted her to look forward to meeting their kids, not keep worrying about Godspeed constantly. He and Charlie even decided to resolve their different superhero methods and agreed to disagree. With the only agreement being that Charlie goes by the Flash's book while he is in Central City. Days Barry would spend in Star Labs would be when he was training or dealing with petty crimes when he was alone or Cisco would go into his lab, Barry would go to the time vault.

Barry POV

I spun around in a spinny-chair in the Cortex. Cisco was in

Alright, just a few more weeks... a few more weeks... I sighed. Why... I closed my eyes trying to envision two small little bundles of joy. One with brown eyes with dark brown hair, the other with green eyes with light brown-reddish hair. So beautiful... It has to be this way, I sighed again.

Caitlin, Carla, and Charlie were coming soon for a check up on the kids, I still had a few hours so I decided to go o the time vault to make sure my parameters and observations were correct. 

"Gideon open Thawne's file and play lesson 387 - inescapable prison."

3rd person

"Playing..." Gideon responded.

"The inescapable prison," Thawne/Wells said slowly pacing around a whiteboard in the time vault. "Or, so what I have chosen to call it, is not just a prison, it is a sacrifice. The irreversible action to center all your speed force energy, good and bad, to create an entryway into apart of the speed force" Thawne took a second for a dramatic pause, as he does. "where you and whoever you have punished with this prison, are now trapped in isolation forever. Just like the rest of the speed force, you do not starve, you do not get sick, you do not have to worry about going to the bathroom, only this time there is no one there besides whoever you decided to stick themselves and you." Thawne began drawing a diagram of what the process would look like. "If you are insane or desperate to do this to whatever enemy you are facing, all you have to do is-" 

"Is this what you're planning?" Caitlin asked, startling Barry, causing him to quickly pause and turn around. 

"Caitlin!"

"What are you doing, Barry!?" she asked.

"Nothing, Cait. Don't worry about it." 

"Don't worry about? Wha- You're gonna leave me?! You're gonna leave our kids?!"

"No Cait," Barry said as calmy as he could, "I'm trying to save you all." 

"Save my ass! Do you think I haven't thought of reckless solutions either? Barry, I love these kids with all my heart, but I can't do any of this alone. Even with. Do you think I haven't thought of sacrificing myself instead of them to him? Because, I have Barry, multiple times. These kids would be better off 10x with you instead of me. I would be doing 10x worse without you. Don't leave these kids, Barry. Don't leave me." 

"Cait..." Barry trailed off, not knowing how to respond. "I-I... I can't it's the only way to stop Godspeed." 

Caitlin exhaled a breath of anger and left him in the Time vault alone. 

Barry groaned... everything is going wrong.
