I wanted to say so much,
But I could not speak,
I could only touch
Hesitant doubting fingers
Pretending to be strong
My heart skipping beats
Urging them along
Finding soft skin
Below a teasing summer dress
Living just this once
I offered a tender caress
Subtle teasing touches
Releasing emotions elusive and unrefined
Strong deep impassioned strokes
Drawing on fire, calling out the spine
Stillness, and then...
A song painted on your skin...
...the finest canvas
...the most exquisite violin
Composing a silent sensuous symphony
That lingers on through pen
Notes that slid across your sculptured legs
And upon your silken knees did dance
That slid along your warming thighs
And then centered with your hands
Notes that paused on your core – reassuringly
And upon your loving hips did land
That traveled to your heart - indirectly
And again embraced into your hands
...gently your whisper came through the silent dark
Your enchanted eyes reaching for a piece of my heart
As carefully and simply you nurtured our uncertain spark
Harnessing rapture for its better part
And...
We were 'good'
And still...
I wanted to say so much,
I could not speak,
I could only touch
Caressing your hands as if
They were all of you
Caressing your hands as if
They were all of you
Living a brief togetherness
However undefined
An isolated foreverness
So sweet and so sublime

Sheepishly singing serenades,
