Orange stripes wrap him
In a bold display of fur
And yellow eyes peer forth
Before he pounces in a blur
With his toy subdued
He settles down for a purr
But not for long mind you
This cat has things to do
He must vanquish the spiders
And tear the toilet paper through
Then after a languished scolding
He rolls over on his back
Pawing at the ceiling
Begging a polite and playful attack
Before long he sleeps
The best way to keep a throne
He dreams of wild hunts
And of wild sprawling plains to roam
Then with a long stretch
That sets his tail a-twitching
He jumps into my lap
