I hope your midnights
Do not keep you up as late as mine do
I hope your midnights
Do not keep you up as late as mine do
Because I've got you on my mind
Almost all of the time
I hope your midnights
Do not keep you up as late as mine do
Before I met you
I never dreamt of singing
Then it was two in the morning
And a song I was writing
I never strummed a string
On any wooden guitar
I never thought my fingers would bleed
Or my words go so far
Until your words stuck in my head
And your perfume lingered in my car
Now I am singing your song
Crafted beneath the early morning stars
Wondering to myself
Do you lay awake smiling from afar?
I hope your midnights
Do not keep you up as late as mine do
I hope your midnights
Do not keep you up as late as mine do
Because I've got you on my mind
Almost all of the time
I hope your midnights
Do not keep you up as late as mine do
My mind cannot fall
With the descent of the night
For the memory of your eyes
Shines brilliant and bright
And the quips of your tongue
Are stuck on replay
Pulling my thoughts along lines of fun
Stirring my imagination until a new day
While my heart still lies in surprise
At the subtle way your beauty
Stormed through my life
Leaving me staring at my ceiling
Wishing I could wish you goodnight
I hope your midnights
Do not keep you up as late as mine do...

A/N:
Anyone know how to get rid of the double spacing when pasting into Wattpad? Very annoying, along with the loss of hard returns and other formatting obfuscations...argh.
Anyways, can you relate to this poem? Did you like it? Is it worth a vote or do you need to skip to the next one already?
Thanks for reading,
