Deleterious Notions

Deliberately I refrained from

Answering the loaded question

Swiftly with purpose, I spied

A fisher hawk diving to the water

My eyes locked on the

Interrogator's heavy coat buttons

Wind cooled my scalp with easiness

My companions eyes watered under the assault

The fisher hawk struggles

To subdue the quarrelsome fish

I cannot see the barbed hook

And the line stuck in the fishes jaw

A tear rolls down from the eyes I am avoiding

A false sign of weakness

Nonetheless I relish in that tear

As it falls on a brass button

A/N:

Yeah so, personally I think this is one you need to give a moment and let it kinda sit on your bones.  It is both abstract and distinct.  This poem is such a vivid snapshot from where my reality and that of the mother intersect in dream.  I clearly have not had enough calories today.

So did you like it? Do you get it?  Really curious as to your thoughts on this one.

Humbly,
