I tell myself I do not love you
It is a most fantastic lie
I do it to chase away the loss
Of your loving thoughts
I tell myself I do not love you
I site all sorts of reasons
They all ring quite hollow
Nothing my heart or soul will believe in
I tell myself I do not love you
That this would be a good idea
But, well, simply
I tell myself I do not love you
A hopeless little plea
