 Avery's POV

I feel very awkward in this truck with these three boys that have grown to be three of my closest friends, and it happened within one day. I sit there and try to come up with some kind of explanation on how in the world I am sitting in a truck with three handsome boys and Louis is not one of them. Normally it is just me and Lou, well, I guess I walked in a cloud of pixie dust this morning and this is the dream I was granted.

I can smell Harry and his cologne beside me, god he smells so good. Stop. My mind tells me. I don't know what is wrong with me; I am not nervous, or scared around them. Yeah, I get nervous, but not the bad type of nervous. The kind of nervous I didn't know was possible. The kind of nervousness that has the good feelings in my stomach, the type that I feel now next to Harry.

We stop at the gas station because Liam said that the tank is about empty, and walking didn't sound like an option anyone wanted to take. Harry smiles and starts to speak.

"Want to walk in with me?"

"For what? He's just getting gas?" I reply.

"The school's lunch is shitty, I'm starving." Harry says with a small smile.

I laugh at his statement. He is most definitely right.

I climb out the truck and Harry slides over to get out. I can't help but stare at his muscles through his white tank top. His tatted arm is randomly marked but they fit him so well. I have always been fascinated by tattoos. I want one myself one day; just have to find the money to get one. I have never really liked random tattoos, or tattoos that don't seem like they have a meaning, but I think I just changed my mind, or at least I changed it for Harry.

Harry walks over and gets a soda and bag of chips from the aisles. I just kind of stand there awkwardly, something I'm I pro at, as he gets a Hershey's chocolate bar to go with the chips and soda.

"Go ahead and get what you want." He says. I look up and realize he is talking to me. "I don't have any money, thanks though." I would really like something to eat, I am with Harry on the shitty school lunch, and I don't really have anything appetizing at home, but I will go for crackers and a TV dinner tonight, being Jack would never cook. The sad thing was when he did cook, which was once in a blue moon, his food reminded me of the schools. Other times I would cook, and I would only be allowed some because half the time I was basically playing maid for Jack and his friends that came over.

"Don't worry about that go get you something you like." He says and I can't help but smile a little. I go and pick out a bag of trail mix and a sprite. Harry is waiting on me to get done by the register.

"Is that all?" Harry asks when he sees me walking towards him. "Yes, thank you so much." I say, and mean it.

We make our way back to the car with our items. "About time you two." Liam says smiling. I smile back and notice that they are all packed in the truck waiting on us. Harry glares at him playfully as he climbs in. I like this kind of Harry; I wish this Harry stuck around all the time. "Where do you live?" Liam asks me from the driver's seat. "Down the road, take a right, and I'm the last house on the road." I reply. I silently pray that Jack isn't home; I don't need the stress that will come with him being there.

I was looking out the window as I felt a tap of my shoulder. I turn my head and see Harry holding a piece of his candy bar out to me. I smile and gladly take his offer. I love chocolate, but I don't get it very often sadly. "Thanks." I say and smile at him. His lips turn to a slight smirk, and his eyes are a beautiful vibrant green.

We eventually pull closer to my house, and I start looking as soon as I can for that ragged truck. Luckily I don't see it and I let out a breath I was holding. If his truck was there I was going to get the boys to drop me off a couple houses down, but fortunately that wasn't the case, and I wouldn't have to worry, nor explain myself to any of them, like I already had to do with Harry a couple of times today. He is just is to damn smart, and can see right through me it seems like. I have to keep my guard up around him to save myself from complete embarrassment, and danger.
