Chapter 17 - Takodana.

Rey felt immediately guilty. She knew she had done something wrong, she did not recognize herself. What could have pushed her to commit such a thing? She cursed Kylo and that power he had on her, to bring out what was worst in her. She bit her lip and quickly slipped out of Poe's grip.Poe wanted to hold it back, but he opened his eyes when he felt her slide sideways. He was about to say something but Finn was coming in with the member. He immediately felt the discomfort between the pilot and the cold girl who had settled and the silence that prevailed. If everything was normal, they should have been talking. Poe moved away quickly, leaving Rey alone in the face of her mistake. Finn handed her the membrane.- Is there a problem with Poe? You are weird since this morning ...Rey did not answer and began to repair the calciner.- We should return to our seats, she said after a few seconds. I will close the compartment later, the biggest is done, she concludes.Finn was tired of her dodging him, tired of being kind and understanding. Chewbacca screamed and Poe turned his eyes to the scanners.- They are there, she is right! Finn and Rey at the battle station!He turned to her with a suspicious look.- Will you be able to do it?Rey nodded and went down to the lower combat post.

He left the office of his private apartments, which still smoked to have suffered the assaults of his lightsaber. He barked at the two guards posted in front of the elevator to move away, and he crushed the keyboard with his fist to trigger the descent.He hurriedly rejoined the main command post, dismissing the intruders by sweeping them with the Force. Jaw tight, breath short, he ragged away the strands of hair that stuck to his forehead. Hux blanched as he saw it coming. He had felt his anger.- Hux report, he urgently asked.- Supreme Leader, the Majesty has just arrived on zone. He spotted the freighter. Should we give the order to shoot?Kylo hesitated. Despite his anger, he did not want Rey's death anymore. He wanted her there, in his flesh. Prisoner or free, it did not matter to him. But here. No question of losing her, he felt like a hunter stalking his prey. The worst thing would have been if she was killed by another ... or taken by another, he thought.- I want all the passengers alive. I want them to be brought to me!Hux turned to the Majesty Commander's hologram.- Capture the freighter, take prisoners. The Supreme Leader wants to see them himself.When the hologram disappeared, Hux turned back to Kylo.- Supreme Leader, can I dare a question?Kylo looked at him with a look that meant everything, and Hux changed his mind. Kylo Ren immediately went back to the hangar. As he left, he paused.- Prepare for our hyperspace jump. We reach the Majesty. And prepare my ship. I will accost the Majesty personally.

Poe cursed as he saw the maneuver of the destroyer. He explained to Chewbacca. 

- They put themselves in position to use their tractor beam. We will not even be able to fire a salvo! Let's go. Let's get out of here. 

As he was preparing a new hyperspace jump, a shot from the destroyer reached the Falcon. 

- No no no no no! The hyperdrive and the motor 2 are HS! 

Rey was coming up from the ventral gun and observed the damage.

 - We have to go! She screamed. 

Poe turned to her. 

- No more, he said coldly. We go down, we'll hide. 

- What ?! 

- If you have a better option, I'm interested. But here we are stuck! Our best chances are at the bottom. 

Rey fell into the chair. Feeling the jolts entering the atmosphere arrive, she straped herself to the seat like Finn who had just returned. 

- Chewie, we come too fast, go back! shouted Poe. 

The Falcon was hard to come by, but Poe and his unparalleled driving skills performed miracles, and the four occupants came out quickly, BB-8 on their heels. They sank into the thick forest, hearing behind them the typical sound of TIE engines. They flattened as hunters passed by. One of the pilots scans the freighter. The report that no living creature remained in the cargo ship went back to Hux and Kylo. Kylo felt the test in Hux's voice. He had to stay strong, give him no leverage. Kylo then ordered the destruction of the freighter. Hux nodded with a smile. 

The four fugitives turned around like one man when they heard the shots of TIE-fighters. They remained petrified to hear the sounds of explosion that ensued. Chewbacca did not produce a sound this time, but his eyes and the slump of his shoulders spoke for him. Poe and Finn pray over their shoulders, and Rey could not hold back her tears. A symbol disappeared, and more. But they could not linger, he had to flee. It's Finn who reacts first and reminds all of them. It was not time to feel sorry for himself, he had to find Maz.
