Ben guided Rey through the maze of corridors. They encountered resistance, but most of the troops were in pursuit of the largest group of prisoners. In addition, very quickly, deafening noises were heard and corridors emptied even more. Carpet in a corner, they saw about ten TIE pilots at the run.
- The attack ... They started, Rey whispered.
- The attack?
- We must leave quickly!
- Impossible, not without ... follow me, he commanded her.
Rey did not ask him questions. They had no time to lose. They climbed up the stairs to the elevator that led to the private apartments. Hux had not posted guards there, so they borrowed it without encountering obstacles.
During the climb, they remained silent. Ben seemed preoccupied. Rey too. She knew what was going on outside, and the risk of spending another minute in the ship. The elevator arrived safely, while the sounds of explosions were more intense. The apartment seemed empty, and Ben's first reflex was to see through the bay window. The fight raged around the ship. He was seriously touched, and as he watched the scene with sadness, the ship began to lean.
- Ben! Rey called to wake him up.
He came out of his thoughts. He searched everywhere, but could not find him.
- But finally, what are you looking for?
- My lightsaber. I want more than anything. Help me!
Rey looked at him.
- But how can you know it's here?
- It calls me. I feel it. I know it's not far.
Ben opened a trunk and pulled out what appeared to be another, simpler, lightsaber. He sent it to Rey, who caught it flying. She watched it quickly, then his eyes returned to Ben, surprised.
- I always had a backup lightsaber, just in case, he explained. The first sword I made with Snoke.
Rey slipped it to her belt, and began to look for Ben's special lightsaber. They had been searching for several minutes when they heard the typical crackling of the sword.
They turned. In front of them stood Hux. He held the sword in his right hand.
- Ben Solo ... always to let you divert your objectives by your personal interests! You could have run away but you are there. You are pathetic! he spat.
- Let go of this sword, Hux. It's you who are no match this time. This sword is mine.
Hux laughed and they did not understand why.
- Poor madmen! And what are you going to do with that? To kill me? To run away? Live happy and free forever? You will not pass the doors of this apartment ...
They heard droids arrive and found half a dozen Armo droids standing behind Hux.
- No, all things considered, I think I'll keep this sword ... it will always remind me how much I surpassed you, Solo. Fire! he said, stepping back.
Ben projected the Force to deflect the shots and Rey immediately activated the sword she had received. Its red blade fills the atmosphere with a bloody light while she warded fast and well. But she received a shot at the ankle that made her wobble. Angry, she sat up and began to attack. She manages to penetrate the shield of a first droid. He collapsed into a sinister clatter. Ben drew in all his energy and ran to the droids avoiding shots. Rey watched him out of the corner of her eye, he looked like a feline in the middle of a race. She admired his agility and speed. He leaned on a droid that he crashed with the Force and the wall to jump behind the dam and found himself in front of Hux.
