Finn removed his vest. It was definitely too hot on Kira. Not a dry heat like on Jakku, but a damp heat, although the vegetation at this point was not lush as on other humid planets. Kira did not have much interest to tell the truth. Small, wet, green but little treed, marshes but no large expanse of open water. Finn sighed, mopping his forehead. He was eager to take his quaters definitely, in a place a little quieter and especially for longer.
Sweating heavily under his T-shirt, he continued his walk towards the souk. He looked absently at the stalls when a man approached the stall where he was. He felt the unlarks (too ripe for Finn's taste), and commented:
- Today, the sun is too dark to allow the seeds to rise.
Finn jumped at these words, but tried to keep calm. He looked at the man who had spoken. A typical resident of Kira, with his large toga to withstand the heat, the face marked by the sun and the pores dilated. A tall man, all that was banal in the corner. Finn came to his senses when the man was going to another stall.
- But .... but the sun will brighten again. When darkness will be dissipated.
The man then turned to him.
- My friend! Come take a gogoar juice. Follow me, he said, waving his hand.
Finn followed without hesitation the man who soon made him enter a small earthen house. The man gestured for him to sit down and pull out a bottle of water, which he opened. The smell did not pack Finn, but he grabbed the full glass that the man handed him.
- Resistant huh? You're not discreet enough my guy, I immediately spotted you. What brings you to this hole?
- I ... I'm looking for a base. For forty men. Our bases have been identified. We have a great injury and some minor injuries. We need a safe place.
The man slowly drank his juice, then looked Finn straight in the eyes. He slowly put down his glass.
- A base? No. Everyone is looking for you, I know you don't have any more. Raids take place every day, everywhere! Do you have any idea how many men and women have been executed in recent hours? Just to have had at their house a representation of you, or to have been guilty of refueling you. Impossible ... he murmured.
Finn felt anguish rising in him.
- I know, we all know it. We fight against this tyranny! If you give up then ... everything is lost. We need you. Phrase make information circulate, that's all I ask you.
- I will do it. Come back toniight at dusk. I will have an answer, whatever it is.
Finn warmly thanked the man and then quickly took leave. He hastened on the way back to return to the camp. Some tents had been erected around the Falcon, but the majority of the troops were staying in the ship itself. Ten days on this train had left the resistance fighters tired and demoralized. Fortunately, Leia cheered them up regularly. Finn suspected her of self-persuasion, so complicated was the situation. He murmured to himself that never had the rebellion experienced so great a setback. The First Order displayed a treasure of talent to terrify the galaxy. People were scared, as they had never been afraid. His discussion with the man had shown him. Worse, the resistants were now accused of all evils, and it was forgotten that the persecutor was the First Order.
Poe would not be back until nightfall. Rose was still unconscious, and Rey spent long hours talking face to face with Leia. Or without saying a word.
Finn drew from the water tank enough to fill his bottle. He walked to his tent, but was tempted to see how Rose was. He entered the Falcon, Rey came out. She gave him a smile, then faded as discreetly as she had appeared. Finn wanted to tell her something, anything, but he could not find the words. For the past ten days, to the joy of finding her had succeeded a palpable embarrassment between them. Rey spoke to him very little, and when it was obligatory. To tell the truth, she spoke to almost no one. Finn had made some attempts, but in front of the coldness that had settled between them, he no longer dared. Talking became complicated. If only she could explain to him. He was his friend, she was her friend, and he needed her. He would have liked to tell her everything that had happened since they had left, and tell her about Rose. Rose ... what would happen when she woke up? Her wounds healed, and she could wake up from one moment to another. But what to say to her then? Would she remember her kiss?
