Dawn of a new Force

Chapter 23 - Unmasked.

Before General Mor Btza, Poe and Finn explained all the events they had witnessed. The general told them of the pain he had felt on hearing of the death of Princess Organa. He inquired about a place of commemoration, but Poe explained to him that in the absence of safe refuge, they had not been able to land Leïa, that she had joined the sidereal emptiness. This seemed to distress the general, but as a necessity, he easily understood the problem the Resistance had encountered. 

He presented in turn the last steps taken to support the Resistance, and the two friends were relieved to learn that uprisings were beginning to take place throughout the Galaxy. The oppression of the First Order, especially against traffickers of all kinds, had led to a wave of unprecedented attacks. A famous gang had even put the head of Kylo Ren at a price. The First Order hindered too much traffic and no longer closed the eyes to illegal acts. 

During the discussion, a Duro slipped a message to the general, who rose from his seat and approached the two men. 

- We have received a message from Maz Kanata, it transmits a highly coded transmission. Would you like to watch it alone? 

Poe looked at Finn, who nodded. 

- Yes general, it would be perfect. 

The general sent a Duro to escort them to an empty office where they locked themselves before sliding the tablet into the hologram reader. The reader put a little time before snapping, Poe's fingers tapping anxiously the edge of the table. Finn stared intently at the center of it, waiting for transmission. Finally, she triggered. 

Rey's appearance stunned the two men as she mechanically recited her short message. Seconds, and nothing. Finn seemed stunned. 

- What? What ... go ahead, give it back once! he asked Poe. 

That was done, but the result did not seem to satisfy Finn. 

- But where is she? 

- I do not know, sighed Poe. She's fine, that's the main news. 

- But where is she going? Finn exasperated. 

- She's going to complete her training, Poe summed up. 

- It's silly, all alone! I'm going to strangle her with my hands! Finn protested.

- Calm down buddy, she knows what she's doing. 

Finn glared at Poe. 

- Do not tell me to calm down! You know how it always happens.

Poe leaned against the wall. He knew something Finn did not know, and that could change the situation. 

- Listen, I know she will not be in danger. Ren will never kill her. 

- Oh yes, and why? Finn asked suspiciously. 

- Because he wants her by his side! When he took me down in the forest, he wanted her to see him. He wanted to show her he was strong. He was in full swing! sneered Poe. 

Then he added a little weaker. 

- In any case, he does not want her as an ally, he wants more ... 

Finn seemed disgusted. 

- How ... you mean that ... 

- Yeah. But it's not so bad, it gives her another chance. And to us too. He will be so focused on her pursuit that it gives us the opportunity to arrive unexpectedly. It's even unexpected. 

- No no no no no! It's downright creepy, and it's dangerous! What do you think it will happen to Rey if she falls back into the hands of this fool?
