Inside her, everything was bubbling. It was like a torrent, violent and black, a fast water that came crashing against the light in her and pushed her away. This black water was making its way digging deep within herself. And carried away all resistance on its way. The stream she had tried to fill had just overflowed and the flood was so large that Rey would never have imagined it.

Rey felt cut in half. A Rey in her was screaming for her to calm down, to find peace and talk with this man who had once been an ally. Who had comforted her on Ach-To when she felt so lonely. Who helped her against Snoke when she was completely unarmed. Who had chosen her as an ally. And that she had once loved ...

Another Rey whispered to her to kill this man here and now, that she would never find such an opportunity again. How proud to announce to the whole world that he was dead, what joy for the Rebels! She would be their savior, the one who would have freed the galaxy from the obscure yoke of this infamous Sith. The sweet voice reminded her of the misfortunes he had let happen, the misfortunes of which he was even responsible, and the still darker prospect of his future reign.

But the light was screaming even louder to calm down ... it was hard to shut her up! So Rey let herself be carried away by the flow of her soul ... and the lightsaber began her dance.

Even Kylo, disarmed, still remained a formidable adversary. Rey was attacking but he was constantly dodging and soon the play was filled by Rey, Kylo, helpless Finn and dumb with fear, and two Praetorian guards attracted by the dancing light and screams.

For if Rey could only hear her blood beating at her temples, Kylo was screaming at her to calm her down. He understood her, he heard her rage. He could help her to channel it, to offer her everything she wanted. He told her to put his rage in the service of a greater cause. But Rey was no longer herself, she did not know what she was doing anymore. Her body no longer belonged to her, her movements were so precise and fast that she seemed in a trance. The bright Rey was screaming louder and louder and then, deep down inside, she heard the one she needed more than ever. "Be strong but never lose yourself, you know who you are, do not forget it, never let anyone tell you what you are not, I'm so proud of you, I love you". "Dad!" yelled her voice.

Everything froze in the room. She, the lightsaber, Finn, and above all Kylo, who waved to the guards who had been countering Rey's blows for a few minutes. They immediately took a defensive position, their weapons ready, while Kylo watched. Had she said "dad"? Selfishly, he would have liked so much that she shouted his name, for him to come back, but she was there, finally accessible to the communication. Finn struggled like a lion in a cage, and at that moment it was too much for Kylo. He raised and lowered his hand, while Finn slumped unconscious.

Rey opened her eyes, which she had kept closed since she entered a trance. She was out of breath, frightened. What did she say? Why did Kylo and these men stand thus, ready to jump, and staring at her? Why was Finn there without moving? Was he dead?

She remembered her cry, that word, but why? She remembered her angry entrance ... so he was there, carpeting under that mountain of rage, his father. Did she have to go down this road to finally know who she was? Was she a monster, in the end?

Rey screamed, then her scream turned into a scream of pain, and she folded in half as if her entrails had been torn off. She could not be that, no, it was not her. She felt her father's lack so strong at that moment that she would have liked to be dead to join him, but not to take that path! She dropped to the ground, and nothing else counted because the pain had taken everything. She was alone, alone in the world with a monster hidden in her. A monster that had engulfed all her memories, and only let her see them when she let the monster out.

Poe screamed in the next cell the name of Rey. He had been calling in vain for several minutes, hearing the noise and feeling the terror that had gripped the place. He was tapping on the wall like crazy, believing that Rey was being tortured or even murdered. The silence now of Rey was synonymous with death and he felt helpless. It was worse for him than to suffer the violence of his jailers. He kept beating on the wall.

Kylo waved to the two guards to join the rest of the group and picked up his lightsaber dropped a few feet away. He was still hot and moist with Rey's grip. He lifted Rey like a child, as she sobbed. She let herself be swept away, nothing else making sense to her. Coming out of the cell, Kylo had pity on Poe. He ordered a medical droid to give him a sedative injection to calm his torment. Strange as he felt compassionate towards this rebel. It would be necessary to decide quickly what to do with them, to keep prisoner not being useful nowadays. But he would think about it later, he told himself. He had better things to do now. It was necessary to watch Rey, to guide her in front of this mountain which she would have to cross to control her agony. And he knew this agony, the one he himself felt every day, would be long and difficult. He would be there to help her, to guide her. He would be his master, and even more if she accepted him.
