Rey slapped a piece of her tunic over her face to protect herself from a squall of sand. When it passed, she waited for Ben to complete the landing check and get out of the ship. She narrowed her eyes under Jakku's hard, fiery sun. She was disturbed by this return. Jakku looked sad in comparison to everything she had visited and lived since leaving it. And yet, they came back in memory of childhood memories. Most of her memories were sad, but Unkar Plutt had sometimes been compassionate towards her. He had made her a little pilot's doll, while she cried ceaselessly. He knew that she liked to drive, and growing up had sometimes let her fly some old ships, never far or high, but it had brightened her life.

She also thought of an old woman, a scavenger like her. Her sunburned skin showed how many hours she spent in the sun looking for pieces. They had discussed, sometimes. Often at dusk. This woman had taught her how to survive, alone. How to find the best pieces, how to repel insistent men. How to negotiate sales to live as long as possible. She had also taught her songs from Jakku, legends that were transmitted orally.

These two people, and a few others, had shaped Rey as much as she had fashioned herself. And she was coming back to her and to her past.

Rey closed her eyes to feel everything around her. And she felt Ben approaching her.

- The sand ... he pouted.

She opened her eyes again.

- Yes ... hell.

- Where are we going? He asked.

- I do not know ... I knew I had to go back to Jakku, but I do not know where exactly to go.

- What did you come to find, Rey?

She turned to him, staring into his eyes.

- I want to know where I come from.

- I told you where you come from. I told you where your parents are.

- And I'll find them. But I'm sure you did not tell me everything. You wanted to hurt me, you wanted me to stay. I know that everything is not said in my story. There are too many things that have come back to me, too many things that remain hidden.

She saw that he was flanking. Even straight, she saw a shadow in his eyes.

- Rey, I did not lie to you. I saw what I told you, I did not lie to you. But I feel there is something else, it's true.

Rey sighed with relief. Ben had not lied to her, and he seemed ready to help her.

- The problem is that I do not know where to start.

- So listen to the Force. Take a seat.

She sat cross-legged, found her position, then closed her eyes. She heard Ben, who sat like her in a meditative position. And for the second time, like her master, he guided her.

- Seek the Force, visualize it. Feel the world around you ... Then go down in you.

She raised her eyebrows. She could not do that yet. To dive into her was too difficult, she had a moment of discouragement. Ben felt her dismay.

- I will guide you. Are you ready to follow me? I will enter your mind and train you there ... But it will not last long, because it can be dangerous.

- I am ready.

She felt Ben's mind approaching hers, and as she had pushed him so often, she opened the door this time. She felt herself being engulfed, as if she was drowning. She was falling, falling, suffocating. She heard Ben's reassuring murmur as she tried to control her anguish and suddenly she fell on the sand of Jakku.
