STEFS POV:
—-
7:00pm.
"Sweetie, have you had your meds?" My mother shouts through the kitchen to me sitting on the couch with my leg up.
"Yes, I'll be glad to take this cast off tomorrow. It's driving me insane, it's so stressful" I said in a agitated tone.
"Is that why you take your frustrations out on Lena?"
"Mother...please don't start, I told you I've tried everything I can to get her to talk to me" I had only just finished crying. When my mother arrived I was sat on the floor agains the wall with my head in my hands. She saw me at my lowest.
"I know honey, i see both sides, it's the positive side of being optimistic" I didn't reply, I thought about Lena too much. As my mother didn't get a reply she decided to start a conversation again. "I'm just popping to the shop on the corner, we're out of milk. I'll be back in 5" she said putting her shoes on followed by her coat slamming the door shut behind her.

LENA'S POV:
*Knock!Knock*
I heard the door softly knock as I opened it I seen Sharon. My face was stained with tears, my hair up on my head in a scrunchy bobble and I wore sweatpants and a hoodie. I looked awful and Sharon could see that.
"Come in" I said allowing her access through the door.
"You look just as terrible as Stef" she said looking my up and down as I crossed my arms squeezing myself for warmth.
"Does she know you're here?" I asked as she shook her head after.
"I can see both of you cannot stop crying and you need to sort this. Which is why I'm giving you this" she said handing and envelope over to me.
"What is this?" I asked holding it up.
"Open it and find out"
I ripped open the back of the envelope and seen a ticket stating a receipt showing '£80.00, 2-nights. Friday- Sunday. All exclusive.'
"I can't except this" I said handing it back to her.
"No. I insist. I'll persuade Stef to think she is coming with me until she finds you waiting in the hotel room. How's that sound" she said pushing the ticket back towards me
"I can't. We can't just fix things this quick and expect everything to be ok"
"Both of you overreacted. It's a meditation camp, you both can relax at spa treatment and work things out"
"I don't know..." I hesitated, this all seemed so surreal, I looked down at the receipt and back at her smiling. "I guess it could work"
"Not only will it work. It'll make you stronger, spending a weekend away together, you need this." She had a point. We did need this, we needed to see how we could develop after these arguments.
"Ok, thank you Sharon, really it means a lot" I said hugging her as she left.
———
STEF'S POV:
"What happened to the milk?" I asked turning as I saw my mother walk through the door.
"What?"
"You went shop for milk..." I reminded her curious as to why she's so confused.
"Ohhh right, they've ran out" she says nodding with a confusion still painted all over her face.
Something was going on, she was very suspicious.
"Oh honey, I was thinking..."
"No" I interrupted her before she even started. Every conversation that starts off with this never ends well.
"I've not said anything yet"she says raising her arms and shrugging her shoulders letting them drop beside her causing a 'slap' sound.
"You don't have to say anything. I already know you're up to no good"
She looked down at the floor. She knew how to make me feel guilty. "Don't look at me like that..." I said as she raised her puppy eyes at me. "What...?" I let her explain what she was going to say in the first place.
"Ok. Well, I have a weekend away at the mediation camp we used to go to when you was younger. I was thinking as your cast is coming off tomorrow, we could go and you could have a massage and relax"
"Absolutely not" I said crossing my arms and shaking my head.
"But Stef... it's non refundable" She fluttered her eyes.
"No mother, I can't"
"I'm not taking no for an answer, you are coming"
"Do I get a choice?" I questioned fully knowing the answer.
"Nope." She smiled.
"Then I guess so." I rolled my eyes. She always had a way of getting her way. Her way or no way.
"Great"
——-
I texted Lena once more, I needed to know she was ok.
'I hope you're ok, goodnight. I love you'
I never failed to try. I just hoped things got ok soon. I wanted things to go back to the way they were. But I couldn't without her talking to me. I tried and tried but she hardly replied at all today.
I drifted off to sleep with my phone in my hand waiting for a reply that never came through. I guess she was still annoyed but at least I tried, I was getting my cast off tomorrow and that was good enough for me. I just wish Lena would acknowledge me.
