LENA POV:

I prayed for my baby to be ok, and thankfully she is. Wow. It seems weird saying 'she' even though we're not completely sure yet. But wow. Anyway, this little monkey inside of me won't budge, she really needs to get off whatever nerve she is laying on because the pain is killing me. The midwife wanted to keep me on the hospital maternity ward until she moves to prevent any further pain.

"Stef, could you please go see your father and head home to freshen up and bring some clothes" I said as Stef sat beside me for around 12 hours now.

"But..."

"I'm fine. Go" I insisted.

"Fine" She stubbornly given up and headed to check on frank and get myself some fresh clothes.

About 10 minutes later I receive a text from Stef saying: 'just checked on dad but he's asleep, I'll pop and see him later, on way to grab your clothes now' however ironically as I read this message frank was stood in my doorway in his gown with wires still connected to fluids that he is carrying around with a metal frame.

"Oh, hi, Stef just came to check on..."

"I know" he interrupted.

"Oh... well erm. How you feeling?" I ask confused.

"Great. How are you?" He returns.

"I'm good. But erm this little monkey needs to move" I said chuckling holding my belly as he smiles awkwardly.

"Look. I know Stef thinks I'm not proud of her, and that this is all one big act. But I am proud. I'm glad she married you Lena. And I'm sorry I didn't believe in your relationship when clearly everything is working fine. And congratulations. I just hope I live long enough to see my little grandchild and pay everything back to the two of you"

"Granddaughter." I smile as he raised his eyes to meet mine.

"It's a girl? Wow. I'm having a granddaughter" he says blown away from the news.

"Yes, and you'll be a great grandfather, don't you worry. And deep down Stef knows you're proud. Just tell her" I pleaded.

"I will." He nodds with agreement.

A nurse soon enters my room. "Frank, you shouldn't be in here"

"He's my father in law. He can stay" I say to the nurse as she then nods and helps frank to the seat beside my bed.

So me and frank started talking mainly about Stef's childhood and stories that she would find some what embarrassing. Until Stef finally comes back 1 hour later to us laughing.

"Oh your awake?" Stef questions knowing that once her father is asleep he is like a dead zombie for a long time, so when she found him awake she was surprised.

"Yes he is. And I think he has to say something" I said tilting my head and giving him 'that look'.

As he signs in return. And begins his speech he looks to the floor. "Look Stef... I know you think I'm a stubborn old git. And I am. I know me being hard on you and disapproval of your life has been painful for you, and I'm sorry for that. I'm just always hoped you'd find a great man, have loads of grandchildren, and I know I have Brandon, but he's not exactly been in contact. I'm..."

"Get to the point frank" i nag

"I'm proud of you. I couldn't imagine you choosing a better lifestyle than this one. You've married a wonderful women here, and your child is going to be so lucky to have the two of you. I'm sorry that I've not been around and been so against everything, but I'm glad you're as stubborn as me otherwise you wouldn't have fought for all of this. I just hope I live long enough to pay back all of my stupid mistakes and be a good granddad. If you let me" he finished still looking to the floor given the fact that he is not a man of very good words.

Stef just laughed with tears in her eyes as he looked up at Stef thinking that she is taking this all as one big joke, and I did too! I thought she was being sarcastic and thinking he is joking when deep down he was sincere.

"You have no idea how long I've dreamt of hearing those words from you dad" Stef said as frank and I released our breath.

"I'm sorry. I should have said it sooner" he replied.

"Yes you should have dad, but I'm glad you're saying it now. Brandon is doing good, I heard from him about a year ago now, and you'll be a great granddad to this little girl. I'm glad you realise how lucky I am to have Lena, and I hope you stick around" she replied.

"I will" he stated as Stef walked over and placed her hand on top of his looking to Lena "how are you?"

"I'm great, I think she may have moved now" I reply.

"Good. We need our little muppet to be a good little girl for mama don't we?" She says walking closer to me while placing a kiss upon my forehead and her hand softly upon my stomach.
