Walking up the stairs with only the sound of distant chatter and the sounds of our feet stepping on the stairs and floor. It made the air extra tense and eerie. Kase looked at me once an awhile through out the whole thing of climbing the stairs as we followed Onno to our hotel room. I felt bad for Kase because her abnormalness isn't easily hidden like ours' I held her hand as we went up feeling her tighten her grip.
We stood infront of the hotel room door with the dent in the wall all patched up that was there Lord knows how long ago. Onno and I exchanged a look not sure if who should knock and what will happen. I raise my fist and knocked on the door with Onno behind me and Kase squeezing my hand. Onno shifted feet behind me nervously as I looked at the door up and down then stopped staring into chocolate brown eyes that make me melt everytime I see them.
"Carlynda!" Shane said and pulled me into a sufficating bear hug.
"Hey Shane." I breathed with the remaing breath I had left. I hugged him back smelling his axe then felt him tense knowing he had seen Onno. "Shane, it is ok. He helped me out and is in the same boat as me. Please don't go crazy." Slowly I felt him loosen up and I loosen my grip.
Shane was watching Onno like a hawk then I noticed there was a soft tug on my shirt seeing Kase looking at me nervously. Shane reluctantly let us into the room knowing that is what I wanted and we all stood around or sat in the bedroom part of the suite. Kase sat with me on the foot of the bed while Onno leaned against the wall that was on the corner to the bathroom and Shane was across from him against the wall right next to the old window. "So what are you up too? What was the whole deal about taking her?" Shane asked roughly breaking the silence.
Onno looked at Shane then at me I just looked down rubbing Kase's back. "I was ordered too. Trust me I don't remember anything other than walking in your room and then opening my eyes and she is in my bed and I am sitting in a corner."
"Keep those glasses off." Shane said nodded at the glasses that hung around his neck.
"Why?"
"Just don't alright." Shane said looking out the window side ways trying to ignore the looks we were giving him.
"What do you know? I mean you have been free all your life right?!" Onno said defensivly
"I wish. Trust me I'm older than I look." Shane said rolling his eyes sighing and shook his head.
"Shane?" I asked conserned.
"Carlynda I don't wanna talk about it right now. So are you and 13 gonna stay here too?" Shane asked nodding at Kase.
"SHE HAS A NAME!!!" I snapped.
Both Onno and Shane looked at me shocked at my outburst while Kase looked at me curiously.
"Her name is Kase." I said calmly cooling myself from my outbrust.
Shane's face fell and looked back out the window, "sorry I forgot."
"You forgot she had a name!?" I asked shocked.
"No. I-nevermind. I'm going for a walk...with you." Shane said looking Onno dead in the eye. Onno didn't seem to protest and followed Shane out of the room leaving me and Kase alone.
"Do you wanna take a bath?" I asked Kase as she looked at me confused with her face all dirty. "Come on. I'm gonna give you a bath." I led her into the bathroom and turned on the water in the tub showing her to put her hand in the water to choose the temperature. I told her to undress and she did then put her clothes down in a pile then looked at me confused. "What?"
"Udress to bath?" she asked pointing to me fully dress.
I had not undresses in fear she would be nervous but she seemed nervous that she was undress and I wasn't. It reminded me that back when we were in the labs we were stripped down naked and then the whitecoats would stick us with needles like we were pin cushions or make us do random harsh activities. I undress and saw her slack her shoulders alittle making me smile, "don't worry I won't let another whitecoat hurt you with all my power."
