the second aidan spots him, he does a double take.

everett is speechless and ashamed. after kicking aidan out... he feels guilty. the other boy's chestnut hair has its usual shortness, yet tonight, must have gel in it, because it's swept to the side to look like he didn't make an effort. it looks good. everett can't decipher anything in his brown eyes. he's never been good at figuring people out.

"you look good," he clears his throat with an immediate clench of his heart. he should not be saying this, especially when he's still hooked on derek.

"can we talk?" aidan asks, no beating around the bush.

everett nods.
