"Um, what is that supposed to mean? Where did you get that paper from?" She said as we started to drive away.

I stared down at the paper in my hand, a sinking feeling in my chest.

Closing my eyes, I could feel my heart rapidly beating, as if trying to rip through my chest like that one alien. "I don't know. I honestly don't remember seeing it before. It feels...a bit ominous, don't yah think?"

"Well being that we're the only two people who know about last night, I'd say yeah, it is." She sighed. "Frankly, I'm a little worried about this 'spirit' you contacted last night."

"What do you mean?"

"Its just the things you said. Plus I wasn't exactly all there in order to be able to help you. After you told me about you having to kiss that thing to 'seal the deal', it...just..I don't know. It sounded weird to me."

I looked out the window as the scenery passed us. Should I be worried? What's done was done, and there was nothing I could do about it. "I don't know Steph. I'm trying to not put too much thought into it. It's too late for any regrets anyways." I smiled, impressed by my positive attitude finally making an appearance.

Steph shook her head and sighed, "If I find any thing out of importance, I'll let you know. Please just be careful. We don't know exactly what is after you. I'll have some of my people look deeper into it."

"Thanks baby cakes." I flashed a cheesy smile towards her. "Where are we heading to anyways?"

"I was actually hoping you'd tell me. I'm not very familiar with this part of Orange County."

We began to pass familiar stores in a smaller section of town. I recognized an area we were approaching, one that held strong memories. "Make a right at the road coming up. I know the perfect place to hangout and chill."

"Ay Ay Captain!" Steph saluted me and proceeded to follow any directions I gave her.

As we followed the road down a few miles, nostalgic memories plagued my emotions. It had been years since my grandparents took me down this road.

Crazy how time can really change things around you. Houses changed for better or for worse, some unrecognizable. Toddlers you once saw playing on the front lawn were now young teens helping their father in the garage, trees and plants matured and were now decorated with tire swings or other ornaments.

On the other hand time could also be a preserver. When we came upon the end of the road, I saw the relic in front of me, frozen in time; unchanged throughout the years.

The playground my grandparents used to take me to hadn't changed a day. I fondly remembered the adventures I had shared here. Many of those being with random children I had met that same day. The beauty of innocence I thought; you cannot be born with hatred, only taught it.
