"Spirits of Air, Earth, Fire, and Sea
Converge together, set thy angel free
From my tongue, I send this rhyme
In hopes that my offering appeases time
Cast aside morals, see what is near
Make a quick judgment, bring death here

"Mia." A voice, a whisper in my mind.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the room. Warmth around my stomach drew my attention downwards and I sucked in a breath at the sight.
Scrambling out of Deaths arms, I managed to shimmy away a couple of feet and turn around. "What are you doing? Why were you touching me?" I asked with a bewildered expression.
He ran a hand down his face and moved over onto his back. "And so the questions begin. No thank you for comforting me as I sobbed uncontrollably in my sleep or thank you for keeping me safe during the night since I refused to wake up," he said in a mocking tone.
My eyes widened as I recalled the dream I had. "Death, please. Joe was there...in my dreams and my grandma..." I started to break down into tears.
He propped himself up on one of his elbows and grabbed me by the chin, so he could see my face clearly. His voice was stern now, "What happened?"
Through sobbing breaths I spoke, "She's dead. I don't know what happened but I watched her wither away into nothing...into dust."
The next second he was gone; vanished without a trace. I felt the spot where he was previously laying and it was warm to the touch.
He must've been here all night.
A small amount of guilt wormed it's way into me as I realized I may have overreacted this morning to finding myself wrapped in his arms.
In the next second Death reappeared before me, fully dressed and with his cloak wrapped around his body. "Your grandma is alive and there appear to be no signs of a demonic break-in or anything of that sort."
A sigh of relief escaped past my lips and I fell back onto the bed.
I heard his steps get closer and then felt a small dip in the mattress next to me. "What exactly happened in this dream of yours?"
I took a deep breath and relayed everything that happened, careful not to skip over any details that could be of importance.
"And how would you describe her body after she opened the door?"
"Well...a husk...I don't know how else to describe it. One second she was standing there a human, full of life." I sighed.
"And the next?"
"And the next it was if she was made out of paper. All of the color and blood was drained out of her body."
