"Spirits of Air, Earth, Fire, and Sea
Converge together, set thy angel free
From my tongue, I send this rhyme
In hopes that my offering appeases time
Cast aside morals, see what is near
Make a quick judgment, bring death here

It felt as if the Earth suddenly stood still as silence engulfed the two of us. No breeze, no birds, and definitely none of the calm atmosphere that was here before he showed up.
I narrowed my eyes at the man before me. Why is there always some asshole who shows up and ruins my good time?
I clenched my fist and steeled my nerves, the shadows in me simmering underneath my flesh in preparation for the worst, and decided that I was going to make the first move in this situation, whatever exactly that may be I wasn't too sure of but I wasn't going to be made to look like a fool. "Can I help you?"
A pregnant second passed before my father spoke up, his eyes running up and down in an assessing manner. "While I see you have your mother's fiery hair, I'm pleased to see that is about the only thing you've inherited from her."
He took a step closer and the shadows inside me grew stronger, yearning to reach out to him, and I grunted at the effort it took to hold them back. "Thanks for the observation and all, but what is it exactly that you want from me?" I ground my teeth as bitterness claimed my soul. "You think you can just pop back into my life after only being in it for a second?"
For a split second his lips tilt into a frown before transforming into a scowl, "Miamora, I have been looking for you for a very, very long time and someone, whether it be your mother or another, did an excellent job of concealing you from me. You see all these long years I've been under the impression that you, my dear, were in fact dead."
I scoffed at the disbelief of this situation,"Do you think I'm some kind of idiot?" I pointed at him mockingly, "You expect me to believe that some supposed all-powerful being couldn't find one little girl? Pleaseeee. Save me from your lies. The only reason you're here now is because you want something. I just haven't figured out what it is yet."
The sudden drop in temperature warned me of the danger a split second before it came. My father's face contorted in rage and the shadows poured from his body in waves as they crashed towards me. I threw my hands up in a last-ditch effort and my shadows rose to meet his, creating an impenetrable wall which stopped him from coming any closer.
He barked a laugh and the shadows quickly withdrew and swirled around him. "It seems that my power does indeed run through your veins and what a gift that is Miamora." He raised his palms in a placating sort of manner. "Let's not act with haste. I'm only here to converse with you. There are things you should know before you go making incorrect assumptions about me or my intentions."
My own shadow wall dissipated and the darkness swirled around my body in a guarded manner. I pursed my lips and decided that the best course of action at this point was no action at all. As powerful as these shadows were, I still had no clue how to use them and I was more than confident they had a mind of their own. Plus there was no way in hell, or wherever we were, that I would be able to fight him and walk away from it unscathed. I nodded and he took that as a sign to continue.
