Just a birthday one shot featured in my PJO chats... I will definitely aim to fix this up.

Percy was having another one of his terrible days. His monster-proof phone laid silent on his bedside table. It hadn't buzzed or rang the whole morning.

Like where was his friends and why were they late to celebrating his birthday. His 23rd to be exact. It was now the 10th of September. They really should've remembered.

He got up from his bed and grumbled. He made his way to the kitchen where ((SPOILER)) his pregnant mother was. She was standing near the stove cooking blue chocolate chip pancakes. Paul had left for work.

"Morning mum," Percy greeted. He tried to be cheerful but it didn't work on Sally.

"What's got you grumpy?" she asked him. "Have they still not called you?"

"Yep," was his response.

Sally placed 3 ((Sorry 'bout the digits)) blue pancakes on a plate. She passed them to Percy, who was now sitting at the table.

"You know you should visit Camp Half-Blood. Just let your studies wait a bit."

"I can't do that mum. You know I need to get good grades." Percy stopped. "Besides I haven't been to Camp Half-Blood in 3 years."

"Well maybe they want you to go there," Sally suggested. "Not that I know of anything suspicious."

Percy frowned. "What aren't you telling me?" he asked. "You seem to know something I don't."

Sally laughed as she turned off the stove. She grabbed her plate and sat at the table, opposite of Percy.

"Maybe they have something planned," she hinted. "Jason and Nico have been wanting you to go back to Camp Half-Blood for a while."

Percy rolled his sea green eyes. "Fine I'll go to camp for a few hours," he said.

"No stay there for about 3 days. That should be enough."

Percy finished his pancakes, said bye to Sally then left the apartment to go to Camp Half-Blood.

~***~

No one was around. Camp was really quiet. Percy aimlessly walked around. He observed the empty surroundings. His eye caught hold of a pink piece of paper attached to one of the abandoned arrows near the archery field ((?)). He strolled over to the paper and read it.

This is the wrong slip of paper.

Go to the beach.

He shook his head. What was going on here? He headed to the beach.

Eventually he found 15 slips of pink paper and they lead him to the amphitheatre. But that was silent too.

Well that was until Leo, Jason and Nico came bolting out of the Hades cabin. Soon after that the other campers filed out of the cabins. Some had balloons, others had presents.

Percy learnt something new. His friends knew when his birthday was. They just needed heaps of time to do what they needed to do.

During Percy absence, a lot of monster- proof had been built. And that was why they took forever.

His 23rd birthday was the best he'd had so far. Even if it was very late.

And at the end of the day, they all reflected on the events that had taken place on every single one of Percy's birthday.
