"Percy, hold up," I called out as he continued running down the hill.

The ground crunched under our feet as black ash whirled around the air, making the atmosphere much darker than it actually was.

"Percy," I repeated. "I'm losing you."

The son of Poseidon's figure kept appearing and disappearing as the clouds of ash created gaps before closing back up.

With Percy's Underworld outfit, considered of all black, it was getting incredibly harder to notice where he was going. Being here, and losing Percy, was an extremely bad idea. If my father caught him in the Underworld, there was no way I could save Percy's backside anymore than I could resurrect my sister.

"Damn it Jackson!" I exclaimed as my feet persisted on, trying to catch up to him.

Boom!

Crash!

Bang!

Thunder rumbled in the air as flashes of lightning lit up the sky. My body sunk to the ground, curling up in a ball as the wind picked up, the ash whirling around was much more violent than before. I shut my eyes, squeezing the eyelids over the pupils.

"Nico!" Percy's voice circled around me, full of desperation and vulnerability. "Nico!"

All was lost.

Percy had lost so much since finding out he was a demigod. Even if he was the best to have ever been born, Jason's death had weakened him. Crumbled the very essence that held him together. Made him who he was. He was so eager to see Jason's spirit. So eager to go into the Underworld despite the risk all because he wanted to prove that he could remain strong.

Now, he was trapped in Hades' hands and there was absolutely nothing he or I could do.

My body curled up even tighter as his freshly squeezed out screams flooded my eardrums. I shook in fear, my body rocking back and forth as I tried so desperately to block out the sickening event that was occurring around me.

"Please," Percy's voice whimpered. "I just wanted to see Jason."

I knew my father and Percy were nearby. I knew I should've got to my feet and helped my friend. But I couldn't. My body was frozen in place as the accoutrement continued .

"I told you Jackson," Hades said. "You were to never been seen here again."

"Nico..."

Hades roared with laughter. "My son may be a part of this world but you are not," he sneered. "You don't belong down here."

"I'm sorry Lord Hades," Percy muttered, as sobbing hiccups came from his mouth. "I-"

"I have given you enough warnings but now, I have grown impatient with you."

My breath quickened as I hurried to my feet.

"Dad!" I yelled out. "Dad, stop."

The air around me cleared, revealing Hades, in all in his glorified black armour, and Percy who was sunk to his knees, head bowed as tears rolled down his cheeks.

Hades turned away from Percy. "My dear boy," he began. "I did warn him not to ever come down here."

Since my father fought in the war against Kronos, he'd become a lot softer towards me. Even now, while he was just menacing towards Percy, his tone of voice had softened when I approached him.

"Dad, I took him down here for a reason," I explained. "Since the death of
Jason, Percy hasn't been himself and I wanted to get him to go back to normality."

Hades shook his head. "Seeing the boy is just going to make him worse," he told me. "It is always best to let the dead rest without disturbance."

My head nodded "I know," I told my father. "I just thought Percy deserved closure. A goodbye."

I headed over to Percy and helped him to his feet.

"Can we please see Jason?" I asked my father. "We'll be quick."

Hades rolled his eyes. "And here I am, completely forgetting about the fact that Jackson shouldn't be here," he said. "This will most certainly be the last time, Nico. Please make sure Jackson never comes back here unless he's dead."

"Thank-you dad," I said.

"Also, when are you bringing Will back down?" Hades questioned. "Persephone and I are dearly missing him."

Percy chuckled, shutting up when I elbowed him.

"Soon dad," I said. "Maybe tomorrow."

Hades nodded before snapping his fingers. His figure turned to dust and floated away. I turned to Percy and wrapped him into a hug.

"C'mon Sea Man," I said. "Lets continue on."
