"Will you do it, Percy?"

I sighed in frustration as Jason stared at me, a coy smile on his face. His blue eyes twinkled in excitement and his eyebrows, blond and thin, were arched. Jason's head rested on the palm of his hand as he waited for my response. My teeth sank into my bottom lip, a metallic taste tingled my tastebuds as my eyes averted their gaze to the floor, the blue and black patterns became a lot more interesting than Jason's perfect face. I shuffled my feet before deciding to answer Jason.

"I'll do it," I muttered, my voice wavered with uncertainty.

"What was that? I didn't hear you." His voice was mellow but it still had the grittiness of a male's voice.

My eyes focused on his. "I said, I'd do it," I told him, firmly. "I'll do whatever you want me to do."

"And?"

"I've said enough, Jason," I snapped.

Jason rose from his seat like a blond haired, dark angel rising out of a crevice in the ground. He walked around me, judging my reactions. He circled closer around me like a vulture looking for its weakened prey. In this case, I was the prey. Someone he'd weakened by threatening my family. I was someone that he could easily manipulate so he didn't have to get his manicured hands dirty. I hated the way it had to be but I'd let him find my weaknesses and now, in order to protect my family, I had to do everything Jason wanted. Disobeying his orders were inevitable. Jason always found out when something wasn't completed. Jason stopped in front of me, his electric blue eyes a shade darker than before. I turned my head to the side, trying to avoid his gaze but all he did was turn my head back in his direction. He kept his fingers lingering under my chin, knowing well that it made me uncomfortable.

"Have you forgotten who you're speaking to?" Jason asked. He was still a little too excited for my liking despite the fact that he was becoming annoyed.

I gulped, my feet shuffling against the carpet. "No sir," I muttered. "I'm sorry I snapped at you."

Jason clicked his tongue in approval before he moved his fingers from my neck. "Good," he said. "I expect you to have your job finished by three o'clock. I want you back here at four."

I nodded my head; a clump of my damp black hair fell in front of my left eye. "Yes sir," I glumly said. I spun away from him and hurried out of his office.

~***~

The target was a beautiful young woman who looked somewhat familiar. She had ringlets of sandy blonde hair that bounced when she moved and stormy grey eyes that made me feel like she was judging everything. Her body was thin yet curved and this was revealed by the body-hugging, black silken dress that sparkled as the sunlight flickered on the material. Her tiny feet were strapped into a pair of black, glittery heels that showed off her perfectly manicured toenails that were painted in the colour of blood. Her fingers were currently dancing across a keyboard as those brilliant eyes stayed on the computer screen. On occasion, she would sip her cup of coffee that sat beside the computer on a heat proof mat.

My throat clenched up. The sniper beside me laid untouched as my sea green eyes continued to study the mesmerising blonde woman.

My breath became raspy as an idea ran through my mind.

Jason was not going to like what I was about to do but that was okay. He couldn't get my family. He had no idea that they were currently safe in Australia who had some of the best security in the world. Sure, my mother, step-father and little sister would have no idea as to what happened to me, but I would much rather they be safe away from Jason than worry about me.
