It wasn't easy sending Annabeth, Grover and Percy on a quest. Especially considering it was all their first time. Luke and I tried our best to make sure they had everything they would need: weapons, food, water, clothes, drachmas and mortal money. Luke gave Percy the flying shoes he inherited from his father Hermes and others soon followed with gifts. Of course, they couldn't take all of it with them so I was tasked with allocating items to either Annabeth's or Percy's cabin.
After many hugs and a quick goodbye later, I found myself heading back to the cabins, a backpack on my shoulders. Luke and the other three were still up on the hill exchanging a much longer goodbye before eventually, Luke jogged to myself, slightly puffing. There was no exchange between us. Not even when he left me to go into the Hermes cabin. It was unusual for Luke but I just shrugged it off. After all, two of his friends were on a quest and the survival rate for those were very minimal. Especially when that quest was one to retrieve a major god's weapon of choice.
My feet came to a stop when I reached the Athena cabin. Usually the first thing you do when arriving at a place is a deep analysis of the image before it gets burned into your brain. Well, that's the case with mine. I've seen and been in this cabin too many times to be awed by the architectural design and structure. Athena, the goddess of wisdom, was one of the few role models I had, considering how many Greek deities existed. Over my time of camp, it was a fortunate case that I was able to befriend the Athena cabin despite my lack of being claimed by my godly father. Most of the Athena children were uptight when it came to knowledge otherwise they were pretty laid-back and chill. Sometimes, some of them would always try to be better than everyone else but it was kind of expected.
My hand curled into a fist before rapping against the wooden front door. It was a little while before Malcolm Pace, Annabeth's brother, swung open the door. He looked messy. His blond hair was sticking up all over the place and his grey blue eyes, usually so full of life, were dull and lifeless. He currently wore a blue oversized t-shirt and red shorts, which really didn't do anything for him, other than show that he was saddened, possibly due to Annabeth's departure.
"What do you want?" Malcolm asked. "Everything's hectic at the moment."
"All's well, just have to deliver Annabeth's stuff," I shrugged, handing him a backpack. "Please make sure that no one touches this. I promised her it'd be safe until she was able to possess it once again.
"You got it Savvy," he said, before closing the cabin door.
Malcolm preferred to stay huddled up in the cabin, being anti-social, so him closing the door on my face wasn't anything new. I spun on my heels and made way for the Poseidon cabin.
The Poseidon cabin was a lowly-built cabin that was long in size and of solid build. The outer walls were made of a rough grey stone with pieces of seashell and coral, making it resemble the bottom of the ocean's floor. Windows looked out directly to the sea and the door had a trident and a seashell painted on it. Inside, the room glowed like abalone and smelled of the beach. Six bunk beds lined the wall, all with blue bedding, and a blue couch sat in front of one of the four windows.
The cabin felt peaceful; tranquil; almost like home. Except, it wasn't home because Poseidon was not my father. He said that directly to me after sending me on a quest that failed miserably. Thankfully, Poseidon wasn't easily angered. Instead, he'd thanked me for trying my hardest before teleporting back to Olympus.
A sigh escaped from my lips as I placed Percy's belongings on his slightly messy bunk before exiting out of the cabin and making my way back to the Hermes one.
