Grey eyes focused on the brightly coloured poster that laid on the desk in front of her. The girl was so content on what she was doing which meant that her surroundings were unnoticeable. Even the person who stood quietly behind her hunched figure wasn't registered.

Arms wrapped around her thin frame, a sigh of relief escaping from her almost closed lips. The daughter of Athena should've jumped in fright at the sudden contact, but the presence felt familiar. Comfortable. The hands attached to the arms moved upwards, coming to a stop on the teenage girl's mass of blonde curls. Fingers twirled the hair, a slightly masculine chuckle echoing around the silence of the Athena cabin. Annabeth's lips curled into a smile as she turned around, still in her chair.

Percy Jackson glanced down at the daughter of wisdom goddess, lips into a smile and sea green eyes shimmering with what looked to be excitement. Annabeth had seen Percy's eyes brighter. Something was bothering him. Annabeth decided she'd confront him about that later. There was no point in dwelling on the issue.

Instead, she brought her hands up to his cheeks, feeling the softness of his tanned skin. With caution, she moved their faces closer so that their foreheads were touching. Annabeth placed her slightly cracked lips onto Percy's. The taste of sea salt and chocolate flooded her mouth, causing her stomach to churn in hunger. The couple pulled away from one another, blush creeping into their cheeks.

"Good morning too, Wise Girl," Percy commented as the red in his cheeks disappeared. "We're now late to breakfast."

Annabeth laughed, her voice full of nervousness. "Is that really the time?" she asked her boyfriend. "Ha-ha-ha, I had no idea." Her eyes dropped back to the poster. "This has kept me awake all night."

Percy took a look at the poster on Annabeth's desk. "What even is that?" he asked. "It's not usually your colour preference."

She rolled her eyes at Poseidon's teenage son. "Well since the Romans and Greeks united, the girls and I have decided to plan a..." Annabeth stopped. "Actually, I'm not supposed to tell you. It's a girl secret."

"Probably a sleepover and dress-up party," Percy guessed. He was right, but Annabeth wasn't going to tell him that.

"Still a girl's secret," Annabeth reminded him, pecking him on the cheek.

A groan escaped from his lips. "Girls," he sighed, a hint of frustration was laced in his voice. "Girls and their secrets."

Annabeth rolled her eyes before informing him of how she wanted the girls from both camps to be familiar with one another. Percy had raised his hands in the air at that comment. He still didn't quite understand the concept of the sleepover. Instead, he mentioned how they'd been distance since the war and how he wanted to spend time with her. Annabeth's stomach decided to rumble.

"What about breakfast?" She asked. "That'd work, yes?"

"How about the whole day?" Percy asked. "I'd hate to cancel on Luke and Jason, but they'll be fine with it. At least I think they will.

Annabeth groaned, placing a hand on her forehead. The daughter of Athena should've realised what was wrong with her boyfriend. "You're annoyed with me because I'm around Piper, Hazel and Reyna," Annabeth said. "I didn't realise that you wanted more time with me." She didn't mention how she wanted more time with him.

Percy ran a hand through his black hair. "The boys are annoyed too," he admitted. "Heck, Jason thought you and Piper were dating without us knowing."

Annabeth shaped her lips to an 'oh'. "Piper and I thought you and Jason were more than bros because you two distanced away from Piper and I when Luke arrived back." Her hands tugged at the bottom of her orange t-shirt. "What with you teaching with the boys and I hanging out with the girls, we never had time for one another."

Percy nodded. "But we have the time now," he said. "The whole day can be ours. Like they say, we run the day and not the other way around."

Annabeth stared at the poster for the sleepover. "Uh Percy," she began. "The sleepover is today and tomorrow and I'm needed there." She showed him the time. "I've only got about an hour before I head to Camp Jupiter."

"But-"

"I offered to attend breakfast with you but it's done now."

Percy pulled Annabeth into an awkward half-hug. "Well see you later," he murmured. "But Annabeth, maybe-"

Noo, we can do this," Annabeth said, determined to keep their relationship stable. "We can still stay together despite the odds." She raised her hands. "We went through hell and back for each other. You even discovered a dark side that I won't allow but it was necessary."

Percy bit his lip. "Annie," he began nervousness detected in his voice. "When you said about Jason and I... and Luke... well..." He closed his mouth before swallowing. His hand scratched his head. "You know, it'd be best to tell you tomorrow. Can't let you keep the girl's waiting."

Annabeth hadn't heard what Percy had said. As soon as he mentioned Luke and Jason, her mind had begun to process thoughts at a rapid pace. Images of her boyfriend and Jason appeared behind her eyes as she closed them. Usually, Annabeth was smart. This time she'd been played as the fool. How'd she not realise that Percy and Jason were seeing each other behind their girlfriends' backs? Not to mention, Luke was involved. Percy's hands touched Annabeth's shoulders but she brushed them off. Percy had distanced himself away from her because of the affair whereas Annabeth was just hanging out with her friends. The daughter of Athena could feel moisture rolling down her cheeks from her stormy grey eyes.

"How long?" Annabeth cried. "How long were you three doing it for?"

Percy didn't answer. Annabeth opened her eyes, blinking a few times. She stood up and glared into Percy's sea green eyes.

"How long?" She repeated with a firm tone in her voice. "How long has this affair been going on for?"

Percy sighed. "Jason and I, at first it was just an experiment, started just after we came from Tartarus." He paused. "Just after we'd come back to Camp, Jason and I was going to tell Piper and you but..." he rubbed his eyes. "But Luke had come back and..."

Annabeth turned away from the son of Poseidon. She could see the pain in his dulled sea green eyes. His shoulders were hunched and he was leaning against the wall to prevent him from sliding down to the ground. Even though Annabeth loved Percy, she knew he deserved it.

"Get out," Annabeth mumbled. "Just get out."

"Annabeth-"

"I said, get out!" The tears that brimmed in her eyes, spilled out. "Just get out!"

She didn't need to turn around to know that Percy had left the cabin and her sobbing mess. She'd heard his footsteps and the cabin door closing. Annabeth's tears dripped onto the brightly coloured poster. This detailed piece of paper wasn't just the happy part of her life. It was also full of the burden the Fates caste upon her for a numerous amount of years.

She turned from the poster. Annabeth promised the girls that she'd attend the sleepover and that's what she planned on doing. She wanted a time away from the male gender and that's exactly what she was going to do. Maybe even let Piper know about Jason's affair with Percy and Luke.

Annabeth snatched up the poster and her backpack that she'd packed the night before. Sighing to herself, she headed out of her cabin, ready to continue her life without Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon and supposed Hero of Olympus.
