Boom! Clap! Bang!
In the darkness, a small boy huddled under the table, legs pulled to his chest. Rocking back and forth, his body shook as he pulled the blanket around him tighter.
Outside, the storm continued to rage on, not having one thought of the little boy it was constantly scaring almost to death.
Nico di Angelo should've been stronger. He was a child of Hades, the brother of Poseidon and Zeus. God of the Underworld and all things dark and frightening.
For a twelve-year-old, he was entitled to be scared. Afraid. Terrified. Unaware of whatever was out there in the night.
He was allowed to be scared of thunderstorms especially the ones created by his Uncle Zeus who was the one and only King of Olympus. God of the Sky. Even his best friend, Percy was afraid of the very storms.
Nico didn't know where he was either. When the power had shut down and the storm started banging and crashing louder, he'd left his best friend like a coward just so he could hide under a table, all alone and clutching a black blanket.
It was always better to have friends around but Nico had just abandoned his especially when they both needed each other's company.
Crash! Bang! Boom!
Nico stopped moving, eyes widened with absolute terror.
The lock on the kitchen door was jingling. Someone or something was there.
His heart was pounding in his chest, his ears ringing as the assailant continued attacking the lock on the door.
Nico crept further away from the kitchen door, his back hitting against the wall.
A moment later, the kitchen door flew opened and touchlight flooded the room, casting shadows of pure terror.
Nico shrieked as shadows rounded upon him.
"Neeks," came a soft voice. "Neeks, it's just me."
Nico looked up into Percy's vibrant green eyes. He felt his heart begin to slow as his best friend pulled him into a safe and comforting hug.
"It's alright," Percy murmured to Nico. "The storm is passing."
"I'm sorry," Nico muttered, weakly. "I'm sorry I ran off."
Percy ruffled Nico's hair. "It's alright," he said. "I would've done the same."
"You forgive me?"
Percy nodded his head. "Of course," he said. "We're best friends. We always forgive each other."
They stayed there, huddled together, waiting for the storm to pass and when Nico's older sister, Bianca came home, she found them still in that position, eyes closed and fully asleep.

Fanfiction*SPOILERS* *MAY CONTAIN TRIGGERS so I'm putting the warning here* This is what I like to call a PJO/HOO/TOA One Shot book. Yes, very typically. Very out there. But... I promise you, these aren't the same usual stuff that exists already. At least, I...
