Love is merely a shadow of hatred but shines brighter if you decide to open the window...
Aisha's POV
They say highschool love dies in highschool, everyone keeps saying that to me and I'm slowly getting sick of it. My relationship with Omar Malik wasn't some cliché perfect romantic comedy but it was steady and I'm completely fine with that.
Most times, I wonder why he accepted to date me. We're of two different worlds, he was insanely rich and I was a middle class child. Not that his money concerned me because I really like him a lot. Apart from our different classes, there's a huge difference in our lifestyles and social life. I'm not a straight A student but I'm fine with the B I always get. Omar is a straight A student, that didn't make him a nerd though. Being athletic and drop dead handsome made him super popular.
I'm not just a kid that goes unnoticed in the hallways nor am I popular. Let's just say that I'm at the middle, and I'm not complaining about that.
He's a major distraction I decided to ignore and accept, it's like he had this weird charm that attracts every girl. I'm sure female teachers are attracted to his smooth raven black hair I longed to drive my fingers through, his long straight nose and smooth pale baby skin that has every girl at her feet. His best features are his hazel brown eyes that could look through your heart. His intoxicating sweet boyish smile is another thing to keep a girl staring in awe.My thoughts were roaming freely as I wondered why he called me.
I walk briskly to our meeting point, a half demolished building no one cared to approach. It became our special place since last year that he asked me out.A wide smile spreads across my lips when our eyes meet but completely vanishes when I see a third party.
"Why's she here?" I ask, my eyes boring holes into Jenny's.
"I'm breaking up with you, you aren't my type."
I definitely didn't see that coming as my emotions sway in different directions, pain and betrayal instantly clouds my mind.
"That's the only reason you're breaking up with me!" Hot tears cascaded down my cheeks as i tried my best to wipe them off my cheeks.
"You don't even allow me to touch you dammit!" He cursed.
"So this is what it's all about, you know about our religion!" I snarled.
"F*ck religion, you know what f*ck you too, just get out of here bitch!"
He walked away with the school 'its girl'; Jenny. He walked away from my life, from me, from my love, from everything. What he said to me hit me pretty hard worse than the damages a pierced dagger could inflict on a heart.Highschool love really does die in highschool.
So this is the prologue guys, watch out for more. If you haven't read Burning Hearts, I insist you do!
It's a story about Aisha's sister; Yasmin
