I shake my head to clear it of the unwanted thoughts.

I head to the very opposite cell in the far corner, Luke's cell.

Dragging one of the two chairs in front of his cell, I open it up so only the bars divide us.

"Hello, Luke," I greet with a grin.

I haven't even spoken to Luke, really, but something about him makes me want to smile and get into trouble with him. He brings out a more playful side to me, I suppose.

Luke leaps to his feet and shoves his long, champagne blond hair out of his face. His shimmering fawn brown eyes seem to glow with excitement and innocence.

Luke gives me an eager grin that bursts with joy and exclaims, "Hi, Sang! How are you? I'm great, by the way! I was doing kinda bad without sugar, but now I am on top of the world! Even the guards don't listen to North here! And I am allowed to eat whatever I want! I am as stuffed and sugared and as a peppermint tick! Of course, peppermint ticks aren't a thing... But we can make them a thing! Do you happen to know any genetic engineers?"

I blink.

Wow, he is happy. I wonder what has him so happy. Can food really make someone that joyous?

I gnaw on my lip and see that Luke is trembling slightly and his chocolate eyes are glazed over and vacant. Kind of like my eyes.

"Luke," I start and his eyes snap to me, giving me his full attention. "I am asking each of you three questions and you each get three questions to ask me."

I decide to go first so that he knows what to do. Ordinarily, I wouldn't even think of it, but he seems a bit all over the place right now.

"Okitay, Sang!" Luke chirps, calming down and sobering up a bit.

"What is your favorite color?"

"Light blue. Pale blue. Baby blue. Police officer blue. Pool blue. Ice blue. Surf blue. Dolphin blue. Arctic blue," He replies dreamily.

"I take it you like light blue," I remark with a smirk.

Luke gasps dramatically, "Like? Or love? With all my heart? Like someone who I'm not going to tell you."

I grin at him and reply, "Ooh, does Luke have a crush on someone? Who?"

Luke sticks his tongue out and shakes his head.

"Nope!" He teases. "I'm not telling you! It's a secret!"

I fight back a laugh and say, "Okay, Luke. You don't have to tell me. I'll just ask my second question. What is your most prized possession?"

Luke sighs blissfully, "My food collage. It is a huge board covered in small candy wrappers, clippings of fast food bags, chip bags, and other junk food boxes and wrappers, and popsicle sticks. It is like a timeline of all the food that I eat."
