Chapter 34

                                           *Sam's POV still*

We all woke up and headed down to the hospital. 

"Hi we were here yesterday and we just wanted to check on our friend, Skylar," Hayes said.

"She actually just woke up. The doctor is running some tests real quick so just wait patiently," The nurse said.

"Thank you," Nash said. We all sat down. Nate was so quiet. Trina was still mad and worried.

"You can come back to see her now," The Doc said. We all got up and followed the Doc.

                                            *Skylar's POV*

I was laying in this hospital bed when the group walked in. Trina rushed over to me.

"Are you okay?" She asked hugging me.

"Just ready to get out of here. You know how much hospitals creep me out," I said.

"We were all so worried about you," Hayes said hugging me.

"I'm fine guys," I said.

"You could have died," Matt said.

"But she didn't. She's okay," Nash said smiling at me. We all sat there talking when all of the sudden Nate got up and walked out.

"I'll go talk to him," Hayes said.

                                                       *Hayes' POV*

"Hey man you alright?" I asked Nate.

"She could have died Hayes. It would have been my fault. I don't deserve her. I'm just like Matt. I'm worse than Matt. I broke her Hayes. You can hear it in her voice. You can see it in her eyes. You can feel it in the room," He said.

"Sadly there's nothing we can do about it. The damage is done. We can only be grateful that she's alive. No she isn't the same person Nate. Sadly that's something you'll always have weighing on your shoulders. It won't stop. It will constantly remind you every day how you hurt a girl who was just trying to find a unique way to love you. But right now all we can do is be there for her," I said.

"Hayes I don't think I need to be around her. Not because it'll hurt her but because it'll hurt me seeing how much I changed her. I hate myself for doing that to her. Just let everyone know that I'm at the house but Hayes I'm going to go back to Nebraska. I don't need to be around any of you. I've done nothing but hurt her and I know Kat hates me now and everyone else probably does to," He said. I was about to say something but he got up and walked away. I sat there for a minute and then walked back into Sky's room.

"Hey where's Skate?" Sam asked.

"He went home. He said he'd see us when we get home," I said. I was staring at Sky and I could see exactly what Skate was talking about.

"Hey my little sunshine, you okay?" Sky asked.

"Can you all give me and Sky a minute to talk?" I asked. Everyone nodded and walked out the room.

"What's wrong honey?" She asked.

"He broke you didn't he?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I see it in your eyes Sky. You're broken. I allowed you to break," I said.

"Hayes you didn't allow anything. I'm just a complicated person to love. That's something I've just accepted. I'm not easy to love. Guys don't like that. It would be different if they thought I was worth it but they don't. I just need to work on myself before putting myself out there again," She said.
