Chapter 10

[May POV]

“Okay students, our class ends here. Do your Homework properly.” I snap out of my trance by the voice of Mrs Juniper. “Huh?” I looked around in confusion. “Hey Ash, what's the homework?” I asked him since he was paying attention. “We have to write about the history of Rota.” He replied, what's that, I've never heard of it before, “What's Rota, is this a place?” I asked, he looked at with wide eyes, “you really don't know about Rota? I guess I'll let you copy mine.” He said, “thanks”.

After we walk out of the class, we move to the cafe to meet our friends. “Hey May, you reach there I'll just keep these in my locker.” Ash said as he walked in another direction to his locker, I make my way to cafe. Suddenly I heard a voice of someone yelling. “Watch yourself kid.” “I'm sorry, I was just in a hurry.” The boy sounded familiar. “Oh no, you're not going anywhere now, do you understand?” The boy yelled, “I'm sorry, please leave me.” Oh no it's Max. I quickly run in the direction of the voice. “Ahhh!” Max cried in pain, someone must have hit him. “Get ready for another one kid!” The other boy yelled, just then I reached there. I saw Max standing by a wall and Calem about hit Another punch. “Stop right there.” I yelled, Calem stopped his actions and turned towards me, I quickly ran and stood in front of Max. “Max are you okay?” I concerned him. He nodded slowly, then I turned to Calem with anger. “Why were you hitting him? What did he do to you?” I asked in anger. “He wasn't watching were he was going, so I thought why not teach him a lesson. And looks like you want a lesson too.” He said with a smug look as he moved his hand to hit me. I tried to stop it with my hands but he was strong and I received a hit on my left shoulder. “Aaahh!..” I cried out as a sharp stinging pain ran through my shoulder. Calem again tried to hit me, this time I braced myself for the hit, but instead I heard a thud sound followed by, “urghh..” when I opened my eyes,I saw Ash holding Calem's hand twisted on his back and his head leaned on the wall.

“What's going on here?” he asked in a Stern voice. “He was hitting my brother because he bumped into him.” I told him as I held Max near me in a hug. “Just that, and he was hitting him. That's awful. But I don't want to start a fight so, I'll make myself clear. I don't want to see you near me or my friends ever again, understand?” He said then pushed Calem away, he stumbles before falling. “Are you okay Max?” He she Max, who nice in response. “Let's go!” We start walking to the cafe when suddenly Calem gets up and again tries to punch Ash, but Ash catches his fist and pulls him to his side throwing him in ground. “I think you don't understand what I said?” I said in a harsh voice. Calem again gets up and glares at Ash, “I'll get you one day, just you wait!” He yelled then walked away. “I'll be waiting…” Ash muttered to himself but I heard him.

We then reached the cafe room where we met our friends, Max left us to meet his own friends. My shoulder was paining pretty bad, as I massaged it with my right hand. “Hey, is everything ok May? Looks like your shoulder is paining.” Serena asked when she noticed. “Did he hit you hard?” Ash asked, I nodded. All of my friend's expression turned to shock because they didn't know. “What happened? Who hit you?” Dawn asked, “some boy named Calem, he was bullying her brother. He punched on her shoulder, he was about to hit again but then I reached the scene and stopped him.” Ash told them, they all looked at me with sadness. “Oh no, let me see if there is any mark.” Serena said and quickly walked at my seat then removed the clothing from my shoulder. “Oh no, it's a bruise.” She said after inspecting. “Wait I have something for that…” Ash said as he rummage through his bag and took out a tube. “... Take this.” He handed it to Serena, she applied it on my shoulder.

After lunch we went to our classes till the end of day, my bruise also got healed a little. Iris invited us to get birthday on Saturday at her house. I'm just excited for it.
