Chapter 26

[Serena POV]

I woke on the bed with my back resting on the backrest of the bed. My hands were placed on my chest with a book in them. I now remember reading Ash's diary late night yesterday. ‘I must have fallen asleep. Well it's time to get up.’ I got up from the bed and went to bathroom.

“What are guys doing today? I hope it's not just laying idly somewhere…” Emma asked us while we were eating breakfast. I looked at Leaf, she was slowly eating her food without giving any notice to her surroundings. I glanced back at Emma who was also giving a concerned look to Leaf. “I don't know, nothing is same without Ash. We all miss him dearly, especially after we heard the news about Kanto…” I said with a sigh.

“Yeah, you're right but at least try to be a bit less down. It makes me feel as if I'm living with zombies.” She said with Chuckle, I too joined her, but that died down when we noticed Leaf not giving any attention to us. “Leaf? Are you okay?” Emma asked softly, but leaf didn't notice. “Leaf?” Emma asked again a bit louder, this time Leaf looked up. “Yeah?” She asked as if didn't hear anything. “Are you alright, sweetie? You seem to be much sad today.” Emma asked, Leaf looked down at her food. “I miss him…” she whispered barely audible.

Emma walked up to her and stroked her head. “Sweetie, we all miss him but we can't just keep thinking about him and do nothing.” She said softly. “Your brother is a superhero, you know that right?” She asked, leaf gave a small nod. “So, a superhero has to do all these things.” She told her, “I know but, why does it has to be him? Why can't anyone else do those things?” Leaf asked, which made me think about it too. Why is Ash always the one to take care of team rocket. There are champions of the respective regions to care of their region's well being.

The conversation died down when Emma didn't have anything to reply. Leaf silently went back to her room after the breakfast. Emma and I shared a sad look. Emma went back to do the household work while I went to the garden to see my Pokemons and all the other Pokemons. Ever since the Pokemons Ash took with him, the other who are still staying sometimes get into fights. Meganium is the only one who is sincere. She always settles the disputes. When I reached out, I was met with everyone coming to me for an embrace. Everyone has now started loving me and they always show their love to me whenever I go to them.

I stayed there along with the Pokemons to keep my mind free. We had barely spent half an hour there when I heard an explosion. I looked around and smoke from the windows of Leaf's room. I was scared when I saw that, I quickly ran to get room to see if she was okay. When I reached there I saw Amy and Emma at her door. The door was blasted away from the room. And both Amy and Emma had horrified looks on their faces.

“What happened?” I asked suddenly, Emma pointed her finger to the room. I paced forward and looked inside the room. The image sent shivers down my body.

There was Leaf sitting in the middle of the room on the floor, with her head bent down and body sulked. There were dark yellow vapours emitting from her body. It looked as if she was releasing dark energy.

I was scared, “L-leaf?” I spoke slowly, she turned her head in a creepy manner and stared at us. What we saw wasn't Leaf anymore. Her eyes were glowing black and had a sinistral expression on her face. She had turned into some kind of monster.

“GO AWAY!” She shouted and released a wave of electricity. The blast was strong and threw us away. We struggled to get up. I looked at her again, “Leaf I know this is not you, I know you are somewhere in there. Come back.” I said. “NO! I WANT MY BROTHER!” she shouted back releasing another wave of electricity. The walls of the house had now started to crack.

“Leaf please calm down, I promise I'll bring Ash back soon.” I spoke nervously, she rose in the air and stared at us angrily. “YOU'RE LYING! BRING ME BACK MY BROTHER!” She yelled releasing a huge wave of electricity which blasted the walls. The blast could have knocked us out, but I don't know how I had formed a light screen which protected us.

When I looked up I saw leaf floating in the air and her body was emitting dark yellow energy. She made a sphere of light and threw it towards us. The sphere exploded and broke the floor. I still had the shield active. I was getting more scared every second. Suddenly a wave of energy was released from me, which destroyed the house further apart.

[Dawn POV]

I was sitting in my living room, my mom was in kitchen. As I was watching television, I felt a wave of energy hit me, it was really weird. I looked around if something happened, my mom too came from the kitchen. “Did you feel something?” I asked, my gave me a confused nod. “Yeah, it was like a wave of…. Energy.” She said.

Suddenly there was another wave which was stronger than before and it shook the whole house. I was feeling scared. “Mom what was that?” I asked in a nervous tone. “I don't know…” she replied with a hint fear. I looked around then my eyes landed at the window.

Outside the window in the sky at a discount place, something that looked like two light balls fighting together. One of them was dark yellow and the other was magenta. Whenever they both clashed they released a wave. From what I could make out it looked like it was near Ash's house. I thought for a moment when fear struck me.

Serena had the Jewel of Life, then it means that something had happened there. I quickly ran to the television and turned the news channels to see if something was on news.

One of the channels was displaying the news. “...looks like some kind of duel between two strong Pokemons. Their duel has destroyed all the nearby area, the mansion has been destroyed almost completely. Rescue teams are trying their best to get in to see if someone's inside. Outside in the lawn there can be seen a numerous Pokemon. Most of them scared, all of them are trying to hide somewhere safe. Some of the stronger Pokemons are maybe trying to stop them, as you can see that Greninja over there, he is taking all the small and weak ones away from the duel. A Talonflame and a staraptor can be seen in the sky trying to stop the fight with their attacks. A few psychic types can be seen using their attacks against those two, but it's of no use the two Pokemons or whatever they are aren't stopping….” I watched it all and when the camera focused in the sky, I immediately identified Serena. She was enveloped in magenta energy, the other one too looked like a human but I couldn't make it out. It was comparatively smaller.

“Oh no! This is not good…” I whispered, my mom who heard me asked, “Do you know anything about this? Why do you look so worried?” I have her a nervous look. “Actually that magenta being is my friend Serena…” I replied, my mom's eyes almost bulge out. “She's who? You mean to tell me that you are friends with such a dangerous girl?” She yelled in shock. “Mom she is not dangerous. She has some powers that are hard to explain right now. And I need to help her, so I need to go there immediately.” I said and stood up and started walking to the door. But my mom stopped me. “I'm sorry dawn but I can't let you go out there and get hurt by your own friend. Even if you want to help her, you can't go there.” She said sternly. “Now stay here and just pray for her to be okay. That's all you're allowed to do.” she told, I did what she said and sat down on the couch, continuing to watch the news.
