Chapter 23

[Serena POV]

Just a regular school day, attending lessons and talking with friends. We just got out from our last class, we went to the limo and say in. What talked or way back home, I told everyone about Ash's birthday, which was in to days. It was 23rd and Ash was gonna return from Kanto today.

I reached home and ate my lunch, leaf was anxiously waiting for him. After eating I did my homework. But when I was doing it, I heard my cell ringing. I picked it up and saw it was Ash. I quickly answered it, “hey Ash! How are you?”, “I'm okay Serena what about you?”, “GREAT, so when are you returning?”, “well my work here is done so I'll be there in an hour or so. How's Leaf?”,”she doing great too, misses you a lot. She is anxiously awaiting your presence.”, “I'll be there in an hour. See ya.”, “Bye.” I said then cut the phone. I was overjoyed, he is returning in an hour. It may sound weird but I may or may not have developed a crush on him. Well obviously he cares for me, I hope he feels the same way. But who am I kidding he had much more responsibilities rather than to have a girlfriend. I assume he might never even have thought about it yet. I think I must tell him my feelings on his birthday.

I quickly closed my work and went down to tell leaf that so was coming. She started jumping around in Joy. Emma started preparing dinner for him, and I mean a perfect dinner. I also decided to make him some macrons. Time passed by in a jiffy. It was now time for his arrival.

Emma had prepared such a big feast for him in such less time. Me and Leaf waited in the living room for him anxiously. Time passed by, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour. It was getting late and he did not come yet. Might be on the way. Leaf was watching TV to spend her time. I also decided to finish my left work. 2 hours more passed and he hadn't came, now I was getting worried. Leaf was also getting bored from watching TV. She just flicked through the channels. Emma and Amy had finished all their work. We just waited for Ash, doing whatever came to our mind.

It was now 35 past 10. Almost 4 hours 20 minutes later than his arrival time. Leaf had fallen asleep on the sofa, me and Amy were also feeling drowsy. “I'm taking Leaf to her room, and I think you should sleep up too Serena. You can meet ash tomorrow.” Emma said, I nodded drowsily and got up, Emma picked Leaf in her arms. She went to her room to put her in bed. I trotted to my room. I changed into my pajamas and flopped on the bed onto Dreamland.

Next morning I got up and looked around to see if Ash was there, but he wasn't. Maybe he's down stairs, I thought. I quickly got ready and hurried down. I saw Emma in the kitchen, Amy in the living room but no Ash. My heart dropped, I went to the living room and sat on the sofa.

“Good morning Amy,. Did Ash come?” I asked, she looked up from her work, she had a worried expression too, her looks answered my question. “No Serena, he didn't come yet. I wonder what would've happened?” She said, I also wondered the same thing.

Soon Emma gave be breakfast, I ate then waited for the limo to go to school. When it arrived I got in and meet with my friends. Greninja accompanied me again. Well he was given the mission to do so.

We spent the day as usual, heck it was boring without Ash. Nothing exciting. Sigh. When I reached home, after lunch I didn't wanted to complete my homework for the first time in history. I was just watching TV with Leaf. Then suddenly the doorbell rang, I got excited it was Ash, I thought. I rushed to the door with a big smile, I was excited to see him after so many days. But when I opened the door, my smile disappeared. Ash wasn't there, it was a delivery man.

“Is this Mr Ash Ketchum's resident?” He asked, I nodded, “yeah it is, but he isn't here at the moment.” I said, “No problem, take this parcel. And please sign here.” He said, showing me the pad he was holding. I took the pen he gave and did the signature then too the parcel inside.

“What is it Serena?” Leaf asked, “where is Ash?”. I looked at her with a sad look. “Ash isn't here, there was a delivery man. It is for Ash.” I said, she looked disappointed then turned around again to the TV. I went to my room to keep the parcel at Ash's table.

As kept it there, I saw a small diary on the table. It was the same diary I saw at his office. As I was staring at it, I suddenly heard Leaf's yelling.
