Chapter 36

[Ash’s POV]

Charizard, the flame pokemon, normally Fire and Flying type, gains a Dragon typing in place of Flying type when mega evolves into its Mega X form. So far, known to have three forms other than its final evolutionary line. Two mega forms and a gigantamax form. Though what we have right here is completely different. The only pokemon after Greninja to sync with me, gaining a completely new mech look, as well as the first ever triple typing, Dragon, Steel and Flying, base stats off charts, no particular weaknesses found so far. Strength enough to plough down a legendary horde single handedly, indeed a living tank.

I never liked the idea of doing experiments on Pokemon, but Charizard’s new mysterious form had suspicions which needed to be cleared. We have always found Pokemon with Dragon-Steel type to be strongest with the only weakness of ground and fighting types, yet Charizard's Flying type neglects those weaknesses, making it invincible. It's been more than 2 weeks since it synced with me, during this interval Greninja had reverted to its normal form twice, and right now doesn’t have the strength to sync back anymore, while Charizard has not yet lost its equilibrium. He has advanced to the stage of not taking verbal orders from me, just a thought is enough to command him, regardless of distance. 

We recently had a report from Calem about Giovanni’s plans to find recruits and build their base in the Galar region. So, to stop that we closed off all the migration routes to Galar, only allowing official purposes. Calem was officially registered as a member of Pokenation a week ago and has been sending reports from his father. Giovanni has recruited thousands of new members and been planning a battle, if he wants a war then we will give him one, our way.

“Sir, the Jewel of space readings are stable, Shall we proceed to the Jewel of life?” a scientist asked me, I nodded gently. The Jewel of life was brought down in the chamber, I made my way down to the experiment chamber. Serena laid on the bed with her eyes closed, Two weeks ago we had done the test on her to extract every ounce of Jewel of life, and now she was put in a comatose state. The same was done to Leaf, both haven’t woke up yet, though Leaf had shown significant progress. But the same could not be said for Serena. Her state was closer to dead than alive. 

I walked near her and held her hands in mine, her hands cold, her face emotionless. “Serena, please come back, I can’t afford to lose you…” I whispered softly to my mind. I placed her hand back on the bed and moved back as the scientist attached the equipment to her body. A scientist started reading Serena’s Status, “Blood Pressure: Normal, Brain Signals: Weak and Stable, Heart Beat: Low and Stable, Metabolism: Normal. Jewel reading: Zero percent. Test sub-” “SHE’S NOT A TEST SUBJECT!” I snapped, for some reason it pained me when he called her a test subject. “I’m s-sorry Sir, I won’t say it again.” the scientist apologized, “No, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled like that.” I replied, in a calm tone. “It’s fine Sir, I can understand the pain, It was my fault.” “Thank you doctor.” I walked out of the Laboratory to the field to check on the army preparations.

Charizard had taken charge of managing the army and weapon system. His brain linking with mine had been a big help as it directly sent the information to me while Charizard ordered the troops using the vocal device created by the scientist for him. It enables him to make simple short phrases by connecting his brain waves to the device signal receiver. Charizard being in-charge has also helped in one more thing, Pokemon communication, commanding Pokemon and listening to their thoughts has never been this easy before. They can easily share their pain or anything they want directly to him and he takes necessary measures.

As I reached the field, two men came with papers and files, one of them quickly opened a file and took out a pen. "Sir, we need you to analyse these reports from Unovan Army base." I took the file and verified it and gave my initials after making suggestive changes. "And these…" he said while taking out another file, "... requests from the kanto rescue operation team." I stopped and looked into it thoroughly, after thinking I spoke, "I'll prepare for a team to be sent there immediately, gather the necessary equipment." "Yes sir!" They both quickly head towards the office building.

I sent a message to Charizard to select some volunteers for the mission to Kanto. I made my way to the troop camp, and sure enough by the time I reached Charizard had sorted out fifty members to be sent for this task. "Great job Charizard, it's time for your tests. Head to the lab, I'll handle things here for the while." 

"Alright" he replied and went away. I explained the situation in Kanto to the volunteers. Soon the choppers were equipped and the troops were boarded. I took out my phone and sent a message to all the Chief administrators to gather at the meeting hall in 20 minutes.

While the meeting was to begin, I went back to the lab and rechecked on Charizard and Serena. I stood near Serena's bed staring at her pale face. "Don't worry Serena, I'll make everything back to normal. I promise.." I whispered before placing a kiss on her forehead and heading to the meeting.

"Gentlemen, the report from the Unovan Army base has come, we now have confirmation from all the five regions. We may proceed to work on our plan for the bold task. Galar has always been a distant region, both in terms of geographic location and telecommunications. But right now, what we need to do is build up a trust and have them with us. Team rocket is planning a war against us and they are aiming for Galar to be its centre. Our undercover agents have been sending reports from Galar on the progress of Team rocket. They have a big plan and if we need to win this war, we need to step up and play ahead. These are the suggested opinions from none other than you people and the regional army chiefs. Discuss the most suitable decisions and put them forward. Today we shall make a final plan for our victory."

I handed out each of them the papers that were kept there, one by one each of them suggested their opinion and we worked out a definite plan. By the end of this meeting we had a decent laid out plan. I thanked them and sent them back. I sent a message to Charizard to gather Greninja, Pikachu and Pidgeot to the lab.

I reached there as well, and everyone was already waiting for me. "Guys we have planned out a huge deal. This is the last chance we are gonna get and we need to win at all costs. So here's the thing. We decided that the four of you will be chosen to access the strength of the jewels beside me. I'm leading this battle so I will be staying by your side at all times. But now you have to choose if you will support me. Our opponent is strong, and with the Jewel of Entity at their disposal things will be tricky. The only thing the jewel cannot effect is the power of another jewel so we will be the key for our victory. Making way for our men to move forward while constantly opposing them is the only tactic.

Here we have four Jewels, the Energy, the Space, the Time and the Life. Choose the one you feel is suitable for you. Pikachu, since you already have the Jewel of Energy, you only have the choice to gain more power if you wish or continue with what you have. The maximum amount given to Pidgeot and Greninja will be 5% while you and Charizard can have a max of 10%. Charizard, I know you are proud of your strength and I respect your pride. This battle is going to be tough, so if you ever feel the need you can always ask for strength. Now, move ahead and choose wisely…"
