Chapter 31

[Serena POV]

“I'm sorry, I'm late.” I broke down and yelled, “Ash you idiot, you got me so worried. You don't know how much we missed you. How we counted our days for your return but you never came…” I kept on yelling with my eyes closed when suddenly I was stopped by something on my lips.

I opened my eyes to find Ash kissing me. I was shocked but didn't comply, instead I melted with it. Shortly Ash parted and looked at me in the eyes, his face was still close to mine, his breath tingling my face and nose touching mine. I was speechless at this point, all of my anger was forgotten. All that remained was the feeling of love in my heart.

“I'm sorry, I left you. While I was away, I always kept thinking about you. And then suddenly Team Rocket attacked and I was so messed up, I couldn't come back. I missed you so much, I couldn't help but think about your safety. I tried contacting Greninja, but it all went in vain. It was then, I figured out my feelings for you… The feeling that is now exploding in my chest… The feeling of Love. I love you, Serena. And I promise I'll never leave your side ever again.”

I still couldn't believe that he said those words that I wanted to tell him for so long. I was still staring at him, his breath still tingling my face and my heart was exploding with happiness. I opened my mouth but my voice refused to come out. Tears welled up my eyes again and I lunged forward and hugged him close. He returned the hug and we stayed like that for what seemed like forever.

Finally I managed to speak, “I love you too Ash, I've always, and I couldn't live without you. I missed you so much.” I spoke with sobs and sniffs. I cried all of it on to his shoulder. He stroke my back delicately and kept me close.

After some time when I was calmed, we parted back and looked at each other one more time before turning around. It was then I noticed everything around. The destruction I caused, all the Pokemons, the news reporters, rescue teams. It all made me so embarrassed I quickly hid behind Ash. My face going all bright red.

Most of the people were busy in moving the injured and small Pokemons to safety while others were just looking after each other, but there were some certain ones who had their eyes on us.

Some of them were shocked, some were happy while one of them seemed to be proud. Those who were shocked were mostly Ash's Pokemons, the ones who were happy were Amy and leaf and the one who was proud was Pikachu. I didn't see Emma anywhere so I asked.

“Where's Emma?” Amy replied in a semi sad-happy tone. “Actually she was knocked out from the attacks you mistakenly fired at us, but don't worry it's nothing major. She is taken to the hospital right now.”

I felt really sad because it was my fault. “I'm so sorry… but I could heal her, others.. right?” I asked Looking at Ash. His expression turned dark in fraction of second. “NO! Don't do it! You may not know but it's dangerous, really dangerous.” He warned holding my shoulder.

He then turned around and waved at someone, gesturing him to come. I looked in his direction and saw a few rescue team member coming our way.

When they arrived, Ash spoke, “I want to meet the chief of the Kalos Protection Association. Tell him that Mr. Ketchum is here and wants to hold an important meeting with the regional champion, the league directors and the captains of the the two Rescue organizations.” “YES SIR!” The men saluted and marched back.

Ash then picked up Leaf in his arms and turned to us. “Now let's get you all to safety before we catch the attention of the media.” He then called Charizard, and I was amazed to see him in a completely different form. He looked like a robotic version of his Mega Y form. And he was so big.

“Charizard you will take Serena, Leaf and Amy back to Kanto and don't let anyone enter my quarter other than Gary and Clemont. But first I need some help here.” He said then tuned to me, “Serena when you reach there, go to my quarter and stay there. Do not come out till I reach there. I have some work here and in Unova, and then I'll be back. Okay?" He asked, I nodded then he called Greninja and Pikachu, who were conversing with the Pokemons.

"Greninja, Pikachu I want you both to go to terminus cave. We need Zygarde's permission to disrupt the laws of nature. Here, take this with you, if he agrees to help. Give this to him." He said, giving them a small spherical device. Both of them nodded them went away on their task.

He then took five pokeball from his belt and called out his Pokemons. Metagross, Sceptile, Blaziken, Lucario and Tyranitar appeared. "Listen everyone, I need you to clear all of this area and secure the parameters. Take out the press, the outsiders, wild Pokemons, only my Pokemons and rescue teams are allowed in here. Tell this to all my other Pokemons. Aaand… Tyranitar, I want you to finish off the leftover mansion. I want it all cleared, okay?" They all nodded and got to work.

"And lastly, Charizard, for the help I need…. Quickly make a big boundary all around this area." Charizard nodded and flew up and used his wings to pummel out the soil to make a boundary then filled the pit with his fire. When it was done he came back. By this time almost all of the area was empty, only Ash's Pokemons and a few rescue team members were there.

Charizard was now ready to take us all to Kanto. As we started mounting him. Ash stopped me and Leaf. Firstly he went out leaf and crouched down to her level. He took her face in her palms and stroked them softly. "Leaf, remember you are only going to be away from me for a short time okay. So don't get too sad. I promise I'll be back by tonight. Don't do anything bad while I'm away. Stay safe and stay strong. love you…" he said then kissed her forehead. Leaf smiled back and replied, "I love you too, brother." She too kissed his cheek then Ash put him on Charizard's back where Amy was already sitting.

Then he turned to me. Over this duration my cheeks had decide to go red and my mind was blank. And the fact didn't help much that Ash had confessed his feelings to me. And since I was going to be away from him for another few hours, the only thought that was crawling my mind was, "HE'S GOING TO KISS ME! HE'S GOING TO KISS ME! HE'S GOING TO KISS MEEEE!"

Finally I was broken from my bullet train of thought when Ash caught my hands in his. He was standing right in front of me. He stared into my eyes and the only thing I saw in them was, Love. I knew it he loved me just by looking in his eyes. "Serena..." he started, "... Ever since I went to Kanto on that day. I couldn't help but think about you every time. I used to get distracted by the thought if you were safe or not. I was so feared for your safety that I would just go out for small walks and to make my mind believe that everything was safe here. But no matter what, Everytime this one negative thought would come back, that, 'Is Serena safe or not?'. I tried to get my brain back in my work but nothing helped.

But now everything is back to good. And you are only going to be away for a very short amount of time. So don't you worry about me. This time I'm not going to get hurt, I will just go and have a small meeting with the security officers and come back as soon as possible." He kept looking at me with such delicate expression, "I love you Serena and I promise I will keep you safe until my last breath. Just stay strong for me. Okay?" He asked I nodded slowly while replying, "okay.." only a whisper was heard though.

Then the thing happened that was screaming in brain for so long, ash leaned forward. And unconsciously I too did the same. Next thing I knew we were linked together, him kissing me and I kissing him. It was short but wonderful. When we parted away I was bit disappointed but recovered quickly. He stroked my cheek one last time before saying goodbye. He helped me on to Charizard and we were finally in the air.
