That Thursday morning was cloudy, but that didn't hold anyone back from enjoying their day, including Diego and Mila who were skipping class together to hang out in one of the back hallways behind the gym where the locker rooms were.

Mila looked over at Diego and smiled softly. He glanced up from his shoes that he was cleaning the dirt off and smirked at her.

"What's up?" He asked, confused on why she was staring.

Mila shook her head. "Nothing, just looking."

Diego laughed to himself, shaking his head and continuing to clean his shoes. "You're something else, you know." He smirked. He leaned his body towards hers then quickly looked up at her so their faces were inches from each other.

Mila giggles, staring into his eyes. "What are you doing?"

Diego stared into her eyes. "Looking at beauty." He whispered, leaning towards her slowly and kissing her softly. "I think about you all day everyday. I'm not gonna hurt you again. I swear."

"You swear?" She repeated, but formed it into a question. "Is that a promise? You'll never break my heart ever again?"

"You deserve so much better." Diego admitted. "So much better than me. You're too good for this place. Both you and Jessica are. The light in a dark place."

"What about you?" Mila whispered, shying away since they were so close, but Diego wrapped his arm around her waist and forced her to stay still. Mila looked Diego in the eyes and smiled a soft genuine smile. "So many people have warned me about getting into this with you. You know what I tell them? I tell them that they don't know you like I do. I tell them that you're a good guy. You are, right? You're a good guy."

Diego kissed her cheek. "I don't think I'm a good guy, but I'll be a good guy for you. Just for you."

After school was over, the baseball field was full of teenagers pretending like they were being proactive while Ricky was off in the parking lot talking with Mateo, Danny, and the principal of the school.

Jose swung his bat around his feet as he stared over at his friends. "So y'all gonna come to Colby's party? It's Saturday."

Ethan shook his head. "Can't. I can't be out the facility that late. I don't wanna be annoying and have to bug someone for a ride back. So, I'll sit this one out."

Jose nodded, looking over at Jacob, Diego, Clover, and Stephen standing with them. "What about y'all?"

They all nodded meaning they'd come. Stephen adjusted his sunglasses over his eyes and frowned. "So, it's a costume party? Like a Halloween party or..." He trailed off.

"Kinda." Jose shrugged, looking down at his cleats. "Costumes, music, food, drinks, fun. It's at this farm house his mom owns, for some reason, I forgot why. Anyway, so I'll give y'all the address. Lots of space."

Clover smirked, pinching Jose's cheek as she walked off. "Look at you being a good little boyfriend and promoting the party."

Jose smirked and put his hand on her wrist as she walked off. Clover went off to the dugout where Baylor was sitting on his phone. He was speaking into his phone in harsh, whispered Spanish before hanging up the phone and dropping it on the bench next to him.

"Hey." Clover smiled softly. "That Oscar?" She wondered, sitting down next to him on the bench, picking his phone up so she could sit down.
