We Come Alive 5

Flashbacks

Saturday night all of the football players and cheerleaders gathered together, but it wasn't for a game. It was for a fundraiser that the cheerleaders were having. Both Mateo and the cheerleading coach Michelle were making both sports help out. It was taking place at the school football field with different activities and games for people to play.

Clover and Manny walked together, stumbling around since Clover's right leg and Manny's left leg were tied together. They were in competition to see which pair between them, Ethan and Jose, Diego and Mila, Ricky and Jacob, and Stephen and Andrew, who had come down from college for the weekend, could stay tied together the longest.

Clover and Manny walked over to Dante who was drinking a pop he had just bought after just arriving.

"Hey, babe." Clover greeted, kissing Dante's cheek.

"Hey." He smiled back. "Hey, Manny. What're y'all doing?"

Manny sighed and put her hand on her hip. "Three legged contest. It's a bid to see who can stay together the longest. I feel like the real competition is Jose and Ethan cause they do everything together. Ricky might just knock Jacob out and drag his body around and the second Stephen has to pee, Andrew's going to cut himself loose."

Dante chuckled. "Sounds fun. How long you two need to be here?"

"Until it's over." Clover complained, rolling her eyes. "You leaving after a while?"

"Sadly." He smirked. "Got a meeting in the morning. Want to come along?"

Clover crossed her arms. "I have a baseball game tomorrow. What're you activating this time?"

"Police brutality." Dante answered, putting his hands on Clover's hips. "I'll come to your game right after, I swear. It'll only take me a few hours. It's peaceful."

"Yeah cause a black man and the police always goes peacefully." Clover scoffed. "I'm not bailing you out of jail again."

"That was one time." He complained. He turned to Manny and motioned to Clover. "Help me out here?"

Manny held her hands up in defense. "I would've walked away by now but we're tied together. I'm not part of this."

Clover looked behind Dante when she saw Mateo with a camera crew following behind him. She stood up straight and gave Dante a quick peck on the cheek before taking Manny with her over to Mateo.

"Up for a interview? They keep bugging me." He sighed.

Clover nodded, holding hands with Manny so it didn't look too awkward. The female interviewer turned to the camera with her microphone and started talking when the camera man shined the light on them and motioned that he was filming.

"Good evening, I'm here with arguably the best quarterback in all of high school and college football, Clover Jones at her high school fundraiser. We're gonna play a quick game of rapid fire to get the viewers at home a better look at the girl behind the helmet. Is that alright? You ready?"

Clover nodded. "Lets do it."

"First up, why are you two tied together?"

Clover and Manny laughed. "It's a bid to see who can stay together the longest so there are other pairs roaming around tied together. So my best friend Manny and I need to win."

The woman laughed. "I saw a picture of you on Instagram of you baking cookies. Can you cook?"

Clover looked at Dante and Mateo off camera who were laughing, both shaking their heads. "Not really. I can if I need to, but I'm not the best."
