It's the swimming carnival today, the school has rented the aquatic centre near the school for half a day. The whole school has been split into four teams which were, red, yellow, green and blue, I was in yellow with none of my friends, but with Lilliana.

Still, it can't be that bad, right? I hope I'm right.

There was a fifty-metre swimming pool where the races will be held and a twenty-five-metre pool where we can just play in if we wanted to.

We will bring anything, literally anything that is our team colour to show our "team spirit". We would cheer for our teammates in our assigned area for our team, so if we don't win the races at least we can win the "spirit cup". But from four years of experience, I know for a fact that after about half an hour the teams will start getting muddled up like a pig's dinner and it'll be mad.

What I'm planning to do all day is just sit in the corner eating my snacks and use my phone.

What wasn't planned was Lilliana stealing my chips and keeping it for herself.

"Oi, give it back!"
"Never!"

She snatched the bag of chips and made a run for it. I put my phone in my bag and dashed for my bag of chips. She ran past the fifty-metre pool, which was currently holding the twelve years, girls back-stroke race.

You know why the lifeguards tell you not to run? Well, I never understood why we shouldn't run other than the fact you might slip and break your back. But there's another reason. She was running past the twenty-five-metre pool, I was just about to catch up to her but I slipped and fell into the pool.

I'm now soaking wet, but she just stood there and laughed, I was being humiliated by her. I was fuming with anger, this is so embarrassing. "Lilliana!" I growled at her. She didn't seem affected by it though.
"Oh my gosh, Felix, are you okay?" a group of girls asked unison when they saw me in the pool.
"I'm fine," I muttered in annoyance.

Lilliana stuck her tongue out at me and I got even more annoyed, that idiot.

I took off my shirt and put it under the hand dryer trying to dry it as much as I can. I didn't bring any extra clothes since I wasn't going to compete, this is a disaster. I guess I'll just be wearing a half-wet shirt for the rest of the day, I don't want to stay in the bathroom for the rest of the day drying my shirt.

I walked back to the corner of the aquarium, but someone, a specific someone is in my spot, eating my food.
"Lilliana, why the flip are you eating my food?"
she looked up at me, "Because I forgot mine."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Why don't you asked your friends for food then?"
"I don't have any."
"Oh..." I was surprised, she really doesn't have any friends? That's just sad.

"Can I please have your food?" I actually pity her.
"Yes, but if there's a next time please ask me first."
"Thanks, Felix."

I sat down next to her and she started chomping on the chips and bread roll.
"Why don't you make any friends?" I asked her out of curiosity.
"Friends are useless, I want to be independent, but I guess that didn't really happen. I had to ask you for food, the only person in this school I know." She smirked

I can hear girls whispering about me sitting beside Lilliana. I roll my eyes, do they not know we both have perfectly functioning ears?

"Is she his girlfriend?"
"What is she doing sitting next to my Felix?"

Gosh, they're annoying. I stood up and walked towards them.
"Oh my, he's coming this way."
I cleared my throat before I spoke, "Okay, first of all, never in a million years will she be my girlfriend, second of all can you guys stop being so obnoxious? It's none of your concerns."

I walked back to where Lilliana is sitting and sat down again leaving the girls dumbfounded.
"Wow, that's very heroic of you."
"What? No. They were just annoying."
"No one except my parents and you have been nice to me. Do you perhaps like me?" she wiggled her eyebrows.
"Hell no, never. I just pity you."
"Okay," she took another bite of the bread roll, "Are you going to compete in any races?"
"No, What about you?"
"Nah, I'm bad at swimming. Besides, my age group has already raced."

There were only the thirteens' boys races left, and then the staff will decide which team won the spirit cup. We won't know which team won overall until tomorrow though.

I slept in a very uncomfortable position until the end of the day when they announced which team won the spirit cup. Like every year the red team won. My neck was hurting like mad.
"You're awake, now get off." I was startled, Lilliana looked very annoyed, "You slept on my shoulder for more than an hour," she said without making eye contact with me.

"I'm sorry." I apologised
"It's okay, I'll let it go since you gave me food."

everyone was starting to pack up getting ready to leave the aquarium. Lilliana stood up and left to get her bag, I packed up everything and also left.

Some got picked up by their parents, some drove home and the rest got driven back to school on a bus, that included me. My parents don't have time to drive me home and I don't have a drivers' licence or a car.

Just as the bus arrived at the school the bell went, I got off the bus quickly. My bus to get home will be here soon.

I jumped on the bus and tapped on my card, I looked for a seat at the back of the bus but there were already people there. I could only sit at the front.

It was already late at night. I was in bed, yet I couldn't seem to fall asleep.

I'm scared.

Scared of the nightmare.

I wish there would be someone here for me, someone to comfort me.

A/N

Guess who didn't finish revising for their science test? Guess who failed their science test? Guess who procrastinated and instead of revising he or she was writing a fanfiction?
(hint: it's me)

I hope you there are people who are actually enjoying my book
