"I have my reasons," she said with the last word trailing off.

"Why the fuck are you two arguing over such small things?"
"Chris now is not the time," I told him.
"Chris, are you fucking blind? He knocked my fried chicken out of my hand. My fried chicken!" Lilliana said still staring at the poor piece of chicken that's on the ground.

Kerby whispered something into Chris's ear, though I can still hear what he said, "couple's quarrel, ain't that cute?" Lilliana and I reacted quickly and said in unison, "We're not dating!"
"Sure," Kerby scoffed and rolled his eyes.

Does he actually know though? Or was he just joking?

Lilliana and I were going to go to the arcade ourselves, but of course, Chris and Kerby had to tag along.
"If you guys weren't dating, why were you guys going on a date to the arcade?"
"It's on the list Kerby! Stupid," I said, and he immediately shut up, "besides, since you're here you might as well complete this task with your partner."
Kerby and Chris thought for a moment, "that's a good idea," they both said and whipped out their phones from their pockets.

Stupid.

"Jodie, get your ass over to the arcade right now. We're going to complete that task," Kerby said into the phone and hung up.
Whereas Chris's mood was completely different, "Tina, do you want to complete the arcade task now? I so happen to be near the arcade. Yeah, okay, see you then," he said obviously a lot less aggressive than Kerby.

We arrived at the noisy and loud arcade with some change leaving Chris and Kerby behind. Lilliana ran straight to the racing car games, "Felix, money," she said and held her hand out.
"How much?"
"Two bucks," she answered and I pulled out two dollars from my pocket and gave her the money.

Then, my mind just clicked with a great idea.
"We should race each other, whoever loses pays for the food."
"Challenge accepted."

I sat down at the machine next to her and inserted the coin, she did so too.

The screen in front of the two of us showed a countdown from three, as soon as it reached one, both of us blasted away from the start line.

As soon as the race started, she was leading already. But, that's not gonna last long, there's only one competitor between us, I was coming third. By the time it was lap two she has dropped to third place and I was in second. As long as stay in front of Lilliana, I won't need to pay for the food.

On the last lap, I crossed the finish line in first place and Lilliana in second. That was a close race.

"Ha! Beat that!" I said to her face and she just puts on a face of annoyance with a little pout. That was so cute. But, that's not going to be deceived by the cuteness, "you're getting the food. You can't regret it now."
"Fine, let's go now," she said and was about to leave
"Wait! We haven't taken a photo yet," I pulled out my phone and turned it to selfie mode, "Say cheese!" I smiled at the camera and Lillian did a peace sign with a pouty face. She looks really cute whenever she does a little pout.

We both walked to the fast food store in the food court near the arcade and got more fried chicken, it smelt so good. We sat down at a table and I opened the box of fried chicken. "Here!" I said grabbing a chicken drumstick from the box and putting it right in front of Lilliana's mouth. She took a big bite and some of the crispy bits just fell to the floor.
"Jesus, you're eating so messily."
"Like you could do better."
"Hell yeah, I can do better," I said and leaned into her ear whispering, "real smooth too."

~~~~
Lilliana POV
"Real smooth too," he whispered into my ear, it's giving me the chills. Smooth? What the hell?
He retreated a little and licked the crumbs off my face, "there were crumbs on your face." My heart is beating so fast, I don't think it's even good for me. My face and ears' temperature went up quickly and my face is probably flushed red, "Felix! We're in a public area!"
"So?"
"So..." true, so what? "Just because, okay?" I yell not-so-loudly at him.
~~~~

Felix POV

That was indeed pretty smooth.

Why didn't I think twice about doing that? That saying where it was something about being blind once you're in love? Something like that anyway. I think it's pretty true.

On the inside, I'm banging my head on a wall out of regret, that was stupid. But, Lilliana's red cheeks make her look even cuter.

"Hey Felix, Lilliana!" We heard a voice call us and we turned to see who it was, it was Chris and Tina, "Tina, let me introduce. This is Felix and this is Lilliana." I awkwardly smiled at her and she smiled back. Thank goodness they didn't come earlier, or they would've witnessed me trying to be 'smooth'.

"Do you think Chris and Tina are a thing?" I whispered to Lilliana as the pair sat down next to us.
"You never know, they could be," Lilliana whispered back.

"Uh, Lilliana, do you perhaps have a fever or a cold? Your face is a bit red," Tina said pointing at Lilliana's still-red cheeks.

Chris gave me a look, "what?" I said.
"Nothing, just something suspicious," he said and looked away.
"Where's Kerby?"
"I don't know, he called him but he didn't answer."

No one talked for a while, and it's gone really awkward, I just want to get out of here with Lilliana. I checked the time on my watch and it'll soon get pretty late.
"Hey, Chris we're gonna go now. Have fun."
"See you tomorrow," he finished his sentence and I grabbed Lilliana by the wrist and walked to the bus station.

"Felix, you can let go now," Lilliana said when we got on the bus.

I finished showering and dried my hair. It was only nine o'clock but I have nothing to do so I just decided to go to bed early. But I couldn't go to sleep. The events of what happened at the food court kept replaying in my mind, I cringed at myself, moving around the bed.

Half of me regretted it. Half of me, kind of enjoyed it.
