XVII

It doesn't matter if she doesn't like me, I have to at least try or I won't be able to get this weight off my chest.

Is she even at school yet? I locked up my locker and decided to go look for her. I looked all over the school, from the first floor to the third floor of the main block, the technology block, science block and the locker area but she wasn't there. She might not be at school yet, still, there is the back of the main block I haven't checked.

What if she is there? What do I say? I'll probably just end up making a fool of myself. I looked around the corner and to my surprise, she was there, sitting on the concrete floor. 
"Hey, Lilliana," I whispered trying to get her attention and she turned to look at me.
"Hi, Felix," She said with her adorable smile.
"I have something to tell you."
"Go ahead."

I gathered up all my courage and took a deep breath before speaking again, "I like you." My heart almost skipped a beat saying that, my cheeks started to heat up and soon burning. Lilliana's mouth dropped to the floor, but I have to finish what I started, "will you go out with me?" She remains speechless and as still as a statue, mouth dropped. The atmosphere slowly became awkward.

"It's okay, I understand," I said as I got up from the ground and headed for the classroom. I mentally face-palm myself, that was so embarrassing. Why did I still have to tell her that if I knew she didn't like me back? I just ended up looking like a dunce.

"Felix, you're face is a little red." I lifted my head up only to see Chris in front of me. 
"What do you want?" I growled at him.
"What's with the attitude? Anyway, you've heard about the school social tomorrow, right?" There's a social?
"No?" I replied.
"Anyway, you should come, it starts at three and goes 'till night."
"Why would-"
"With Lilliana," he said shutting me up.
"Excuse me?" I said in annoyance.
"Just ask her out already, you realise the shippers here are all more nervous than you are. That's not right." It's not like I haven't already asked her out.
"Let's just get to class."

I wasn't really paying attention to what the teacher was saying in class, I can't. I wanted to be with Lilliana, but what was I expecting? Of course, she wouldn't say yes.

"Where's Lilliana?" Howard asked
"I don't know," I replied lifelessly, I feel like all my energy has been drained out of me.

"What are you feeling so down for?"
"Kerby, can you just not? I'm not in the mood for anything."
"Felix, are you sure everything's fine?" Chris asked with a face of concern and seriousness.
"Yeah," I muttered quietly but loud enough for him to hear.
"We're always here for you if you need us."

First, it was the sudden business trip mum and dad has to go on and now Lilliana rejecting me, not to mention the shampoo bottle too. The world just hates me.

I actually feel like dying sometimes.

As soon as the bell went, everyone ran out of the classrooms more than ready to go home. Whereas I dragged myself slowly to the door.
"Felix, could you do me a favour?" The teacher stopped me. I guess I could, it won't do any harm to me.
"Sure, what do you want me to do?"
"Hold this pile of paper for a moment," he said dumping a thick stack of paper on to my arms. He grabbed another stack and walked to the door of the classroom, "follow me."

I followed him from the first floor and walked up to the staff room on the third floor, "just place it down there," he said pointing at the empty spot on his desk and I did as I was told.
"Felix, is there something bothering you?" Huh?
"No."
"You seem a little tired out, make sure to get some good rest." Oh.
"Thank you, sir, I will," I said and left the staff room.

I thought Lilliana has already caught the bus home, but I saw a short figure standing in front of the school gate, it looks awfully a lot like Lilliana. What is she still doing here at school? She noticed my presence and ran towards me and halted when she reached me before starting to speak, "yes, I will go out with you and be your girlfriend." Did I hear wrong? "under one condition though."

"What is it?"
"We must keep this relationship a secret, I'm not ready to let the whole world know yet."
"Why?"
"That is none of your concerns."
"Why didn't you say this morning?"
"It's not every day that your crush confesses to you first." Crush? I was her crush?
"Since when did you ever like me? I never realised."
"I guess I'm just really good at hiding secrets."

I'm in utter shock. This can't be happening to me. I must be dreaming.

"Are you going to the school social on tomorrow?" I asked her, if she's going I'll be too.
"Nah, the social isn't my cup of tea." This is great, we can go on a date on Friday night then.
"For the date how about tomorrow night...should I wait for you at your place?"
"No, it's okay, I'll go to your place. I don't want my parents to know about this yet. Can I come at four?"
"Um, sure."
"'kay then, I have to go now, I won't be catching the bus today, you're on your own," she said and skipped away.

When she was out of sight, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. 

She agreed! I'm so excited! I can't wait.

A/N

The chapter is still shit, but on the bright side, it's an okay length chapter.

That tiny section of the chapter where Howard asks where Lilliana is has no point to it, I just wrote that to make the chapter a bit longer. Just saying.

Also, I should be writing my essay but I sat my ass down just to write for my readers (which isn't a lot).
