The place was dark, the only source of light was above me. There was a figure in the distance, I walked towards it to see who it was. The person turned around to face me.

It's that person, the person I love the most. With every step I take, the further the person gets. I ran but they ran faster.

They slowed down their pace when they reach the edge of a cliff. I slowed down also, I was about to put my hand on their shoulder to turn them around, but before I could the person turned around and smiled at me.

What they did next was unexpected.

They fell backwards and off the cliff before I could even react.

I tried to catch the person but it was too late...

I sat up straight on my bed, sweating. It was that terrible dream again. Am I ever going to learn to not let them jump off? I can't remember what he or she looked like again. I grab my hair in frustration. I try to fall asleep again but it didn't really work, the sun was already rising.

There was nothing else to do but get ready for school.

There was an assembly first thing in the morning in the hall, we will find out which team has won the most points in the swimming carnival.

To be honest, I don't give a shit which team won.

When the bell rang, the whole school starts filing into the hall. I lifelessly drag myself into the hall with the rest of my team with the other three following in.

It was a waste of my time, people got medals and they announced the winning team, which was the blue one. No surprise there, they win the swimming carnival every year.

After the assembly everyone returned to their classes. I have a society and environment class, which means that Chris won't be in the same class as me. This lesson is going to be long, I really don't care about the environment if there's someone else to take care of it, I also don't care about politics and society, it's not like I'm going to need any of this information.

I took my phone out of my pocket even though the teachers said no phones in class, but who'll notice?

You know those times when you're so sure about something but that specific thing or event goes the other way? Yeah...that happened to me.

I was just scrolling down my feed on Instagram until a hand appeared in front of my eyes, I looked up, it was the teacher. I awkwardly smiled at her and she sarcastically smiled back at me, "Mr Lee, May I have your phone please?"
I handed my phone over to her with that awkward smile still stuck on my face.

As soon as she turned away I slumped on to my desk. I sighed heavily, I'm not gonna get it back until the end of school, I'll probably miss my bus too. Why is there such thing as a class that teaches environment and society? It's so boring and a waste of time.

I have science now, the last period and it started raining, what a bummer. I still have to catch the bus home, the bus will be wet and disgusting. Hold on, did I even bring an umbrella to school? Shit. I'm just hoping that I have an umbrella in my locker.

Just two minutes ago it was raining, now it has stopped raining, it started pouring. Well, it's totally gonna be fun getting home.

"Felix?" I look at the teacher who just called my name
"Yes?"
"Come collect your assignment."

I walked to the front of the class where the teacher was and collected my test as he kept calling out names.

I flip to the last page where the teacher stapled a rubric, I got a 'C', mum is gonna kill me.

Lucky for me I have an excuse, 'Mr Hitchman said so.'

Mr Hitchamn said that the in the new Australian curriculum that 'C' is what you're supposed to be getting, 'A' and 'B' are beyond what you're supposed to know. I bet Lilliana didn't even get a 'D'.

And there goes the bell, I quickly run to the staff room to collect my phone. The teacher gave me my phone immediately and slammed th staff room door in my face. She probably doesn't want to see my face.

I ran to the bus shelter as fast as my legs can carry me, thank goodness it hasn't come yet, what a relief.

I heard someone running through the puddles trying to get under the bus shelter.

It's Lilliana. Oh, that's right, she catches the same bus as me. She looked at me and frowned. Am I really that annoying in her eyes? I mean, you can say that because she'd rather stand in the pouring rain than stand next to me.

I put my hands on her shoulder and steered her back under the shelter.
"Why are you pulling me back under the shelter?"
"Because I don't want you to get sick."
"Why?"
"Because you make school interesting, I don't want you to go sick and stay at home," It's true that she makes everything more interesting, "by the way, what did you get on the science assignment?"
"Now let me think about this, why should I tell you this?"
"Is there a reason that I shouldn't know?"
"No, but is there a reason you should know?"
"No."
"Then shut the fuck up."
"Or maybe you got a really low mark and you don't want to show it to me."
"Okay, fine, I got a 'B'. What did you get?"

So, if I tell her my grade she'll laugh at me, if I don't, she'll make a big deal out of it, maybe?

"You know what? Pretend I never asked."
"Hmmm...no."
"I got a 'C', now laugh all you want."
"I can't laugh at that, I can only laugh if you got a 'D'."

I really don't get girls, especially this one. One minute she makes me her ultimate archenemy, next minute she's being as sweet as a piece of lolly. I think my brain is malfunctioning, I can feel steam coming out from the top of my head.

She's so complicated.

A/N

Do you guys say 'candy' or 'lolly'?

I not only procrastinated on school work and homework but also procrastinated on writing this story.
