Chapter 17

Amanda's POV

Waking up with a minor headache, I groaned as I stretched in bed before turning over on my side. I felt a body beside me as I slightly opened my eyes seeing Madison snoring away.

I closed my eyes for a couple more minutes as I didn't want to wake up. Then I remembered, I called Shawn last night and we had talked on the phone. I remember most of the conversation but some of it was a blur.

I turned around grabbing my phone as I checked to see I had some notifications from Instagram, and a couple texts from Shawn.

"Don't ever pull that shit again." I smiled knowing he cared.

"Also, call me when you get up. I wanna make sure you're ok." My smile growing even larger if that was possible.

Pressing the call button, I brought the phone up to my ear as it rang twice before his voice was heard on the other line.

"Hey, you okay?" He instantly said which caused me to smile.

"I'm fine, I just have a headache." I shrugged it off. He sighed through the phone leaving it completely silent.

"You know that was pretty dumb last night pulling that driving home shit. I don't know what you were thinking but that's not funny." He said.

"I know, I'm sorry."

"I'm glad you're ok though."

"Thanks." I sat up in bed leaning back onto the headboard.

"I'm sorry about the whole not texting you bullshit. I was being a complete dick and I see it now." He spoke up.

"Yeah, you were." I said annoyed as he laughed through the phone. Oh that laugh.

"I'm actually going to be done in about a week or so and I'll fly back home to come hang with you." He said as I got butterflies in my stomach.

"Ok." I whispered letting out a tiny giggle.

"Yeah, does that sound like a plan?" He asked chuckling.

"Mhm." I hummed.

"Listen, I got to go. The quicker I finish this, the quicker I can come back and see you." My cheeks heated up as I bit down on my bottom lip excited.

"Ok." I smiled. "I'll talk to you later?"

"Yeah, bye." He said as I hung up the phone.

I was happy that we were finally in a good state because I really did miss him. He's such a different guy from the recent ones I've had things with and he actually cared even with his career and schedule.

I got up from my bed heading into the bathroom doing my business and washing my face when I heard my brother calling my name.

"Amanda?" He screamed.

"Shhh." I said as he entered the bathroom. "Madison is still sleeping." He laughed as I just rolled my eyes chuckling.

"Mom wants to see you downstairs." He whispered.

"Well tell her I'll be down in a minute." I scruffed his hair as he ran out of the bathroom. I brushed my teeth before heading downstairs to see my mom in the kitchen. "Hey mom." I smiled.

"You and Madison got in a little late last night." She smirked.

"I know, I'm sorry if I woke you." I chuckled.

"So I see you're talking to him again." She smirked playfully shoving my shoulder.

"Mom!" I screeched. "You were listening in on my conversation?" I asked embarrassed.

"I couldn't help but overhear." She shrugged. "So who exactly are you dating?" She asked raising her eyebrows.

"I'm not dating anyone." I said.

"Who is this Shawn kid?" She asked. "Recording an album? In LA?" She said scrunching her face together as if she was confused.

"Yeah." I shrugged.

"So you're dating a rockstar?" She chuckled.

"Mom." I whined. "I'm not dating anyone, ok?" I laughed.

"I will find out." She yelled as I began walking out of the kitchen.

"Ok." I yelled back laughing. My god I can't believe she heard my conversation last night with Madison.

"So we have the first single ready and the date :)" I saw that Shawn had texted.

"Oh really? May I ask what the name of the song is? ;)"

"Idk" He texted before I received another. "Kidding, it's called In My Blood"

"Am I gonna have to wait till the release date like everybody else or do I get a sneak peek? ;)"

"I could give a little sneak peek ;) just a tiny one"

"Such a tease lol"

I laughed as I put my phone down on the end table focusing my attention back onto my laptop I had been watching Gossip Girl because there was nothing else to do.

Moments later I had gotten a notification, "shawnmendes has followed you back". I chuckled before putting my phone back down and finishing my show.

6 days have gone by and Shawn had given me the news last night that he was done. I was excited because that meant I could finally see him. I've been so busy the past few days, I just needed to see him.

I was roaming around Downtown Toronto with Madison as we just needed to get out of the house. We were sitting at a Timmies drinking Iced Capp's chit chatting about the most randomest things.

"Smile." I said putting my phone up towards her as I took a boomerang of her smiling with her drink before showing her and sending it off to Instagram with the Toronto location on it.

So much more people have followed me ever since Shawn had followed me that day and they just keep coming in. I was at 15k followers and getting so many comments about him.

I hated the attention I was getting but I didn't want that to get in the way of what Shawn and I have. I guess I'll have to deal with it if I want to associate myself with a celebrity.

"So is he coming back today?" Madison asked.

"Uh no he has some things to do today. He'll probably make it tomorrow or the day after." I shrugged.

"It's too bad you couldn't go to LA. That would have been so cool." Madison smiled.

"Yeah considering I've never been." I smiled. "Maybe one day you and I will go together."

"For sure, we have to make it sometime during the winter so we can get away from the snow." She laughed.

I nodded my head agreeing with her as we both laughed it off.

"Wanna head out now?" She asked.

"Sure." We got up throwing our garbage away before walking into the streets continuing our conversation.

"Excuse me?" We heard as both looked in the direction of the voice. There was 4 teenage girls all in a group.

"Hi?" I said confused sending them a soft smile.

"Are you that girl that's been hanging out with Shawn?" She asked. Oh great.

"Yeah." I nodded as all their faces lit up.

"Do you mind if we ask you some questions?" One girl said as they waited for an answer. Oh boy...this is going to be fun.

There's a huge thunderstorm in my city right now and some have lost power and that means no wifi so I'm uploading right now before I lose my power lmao. Also the thunder right now is so crazy my walls are shaking in my house. Bye
