Chapter 30

-4 weeks later-

Opening up the package I had gotten in the mail, it was Shawn's merch sweater for his song Youth. I haven't spoken to him since that night we called things quit so I really wasn't expecting this.

Putting it on over my body, it was a bit big on me but he knows I like my sweaters baggy. I got my phone taking a picture of me in the sweater as it took me 50 tries to get a decent one to send to him.

"Thanks for the sweater :) *attachment: 1 image*" I put my phone down on the table as I threw the packaging out when I heard my phone buzz.

"It looks good on you" Was all he said. Rolling my eyes, I let out a tiny chuckle as I typed back.

"Thanks."

The weather was just starting to get nice in Canada, a little. It was the beginning of May and there was still some snow but not much. Winter was dragged on for longer than it should've been.

I went outside in just the sweater and some leggings with my shoes as I hopped in the car. Madison and I had plans to go shopping at the eaton centre today.

Before putting the car in reverse I took a boomerang of me in the sweater as I wrote "shopping day" on it before sending it to my story.

Getting to the mall, Madison and I met up at the entrance as she looked down at my sweater.

"That's new." She said backing away from the hug.

"Uh yeah, Shawn gave it to me." I smiled.

"Oh you guys are talking again?" She asked.

"Well no, he just kind of sent it and I texted him thanking him and yeah that's it." I shrugged as I felt my phone buzz in my hands. It was him.

"My sweater gets a boomerang on Instagram? How cute" Laughing, I opened up the message.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself ;)" Madison and I began walking as Shawn and I continued to text each other non stop for the next 20 minutes.

"Ok hun, stop." Madison said stopping in front of me as I looked up from my phone.

"What?" I asked confused.

"I came here to be with you. Not with you, and him." She said looking down at my phone.

"Sorry." I locked my phone putting it away as I put my full attention onto her.

"Look I get you miss him because you guys haven't spoken in a month but don't jump into something you're not ready for just because you feel you're ready." She smiled. "I'm only saying this because a month ago you were broken because of him."

"Don't worry. Just friends catching up." I comforted her. "I don't want nor need a relationship right now." I smiled.

"Good. Now let's shop." She grabbed my hand as we continued to look around the mall. When we got to the food court, that's when things started to get a little crazy because 1. It was packed. 2. School had just ended about half an hr ago so all the teen girls were here and 3. I was spotted by a group.

"Oh my god, Amanda right?" One girl said.

"Yeah? Fan of Shawn's?" I asked already knowing. They all nodded their head.

"So you guys are still together or not because everyone thinks you broke up?" One of them asked.

"We're just friends." I laughed.

"Aw really?" She said. "I'd rather him be with you than that Hailey bitch." She scoffed as I held in my laughter. Madison on the other hand, let it out.
